hoyer collapsed under pressure, but he was our best option considering Bob idiotically traded for mallet then signed mallet another year.

Hoyer averaged a 90 qbrating for the season, there just wasn't that much garbage time. He's an average backup

We should have drafted and started a rookie (not savage) with hoyer at backup

Unfortunately there are mallet only fans here who make a habit of posting in Texans game threads about Baltimore games Mallet is playing in

He goes out on the field and does something, but I wouldn't call it "playing football"

He invented a new game called "foot darts"

****, both of our lines are decimated and we're not even in week 2 of preseason. Nick Martin can't seem to catch a break.

    Hoyer sucks
    Mallet sucks

I would take Savage over both of them as backup

Now, back to our current roster and hoping BOZ can do something with this team.

Watt missing the first few games is huge but it could be a blessing in disguise if someone else steps up.

Duane Brown I don't think will ever be what he was & we need to replace him in this coming draft. I just hope the oline can stay good or Brock is going to look pretty bad early on.

I wonder if the team stinks it up the first 4-5 weeks............ will Savage get a shot?

The only way Savage sees the field this year is from injury... Im willing to bet Brock has a pretty long leash

0-5 and you think O'Brien still holds on to Brock ? I'm talking horrible numbers, late schaub like performance.

Why are we still trying to make Savage happen? He's a good backup, but I hope we don't have to use him. Brock has shown much more promise.

If you think Savage can beat the Pats, in the snow, with huge playoff implications, you're dead wrong.

I agree he was our best option but he was awful and painful to watch. I thought it would be easy to find some garbage time stats but I derped out and couldn't find any. But that lead me to look at some crunch time/situational stats and my god with 2 min left in half, Hoyer had a QB rating of 43.9 20/46 with 1 TD and 3 interceptions.

For comparison, Teddy Bridgewater had a 90.8 QB rating with 2 min left in half with 5 TDs and 2 interceptions. Derek Carr had a holey moley 128.9 QB rating with 2 min left in half with 8 freaking touchdowns and 0 why did I look this up interceptions.

Savage has done nothing to have this much support. It's mind boggling he's even discussed that much.

No doubt, I completely wanted them to draft a QB. I thought Garopollo would have been a good pick, but Bridgewater or Carr would have been nice too.

Heck I would have liked Lynch this year

Texans fans and awful QB analysis go hand in hand.

The irony in Bobbys posts have convinced me he's just doing shtick.

I could see why you'd think that, but if you knew a bit more, you'd know that there's nothing ironic about what I said. Then again, you are one of those who have gone to bat for the absolute worst of QB's, so it's cool.

Me on the other hand, I've been right pretty much every time. I was against picking up Fitz, I was against trading for Mallett, I was against picking up Hoyer. I said all 3 were garbage and people argued. Hell you're still trying to defend the worst of the 3 even now. It's just ridiculous.

Of course Texans fans in their infinite wisdom have already declared Brock a bust and are talking up Savage as the next big thing. Being right about QB issues just isn't what the average Texans fan does.

Hell I wouldn't be shocked if tomorrow there are people trying to trade JJ Watt for Dak Prescott.

I'm convinced he has Ryan mallet posters covering his bedroom walls
