[ClutchFans] Bill Worrell planning retirement, Craig Ackerman to take over road TV duties

I'm depressed. I don't want Bill to go. I want Bill to stay and Calvin to join him.

It would be entertaining to have DD call games..

But Calvin and Bill were by far the best combo I have heard. Sux they can't just both do games again together for one last year

I'm sure John Paul Stevenson is a class act and hard worker... BUT

anyone else get exhausted of his style? Never dug the super deep raggedy voice and drawn out names that take 10 seconds to finish..

 

I could easily do it, would be good at it....it is my degree and what I am professionally trained to do.

And I would not mispronounce all the stuff that Harry Carey, errr, Bill Worrell has done over the last few years.

Not so sure I like Ackerman, I agree that his emotions seem forced and he's not going to learn the business from Clyde or Bullard so he better be ready for TV. We get at least one more year with Bill, so that's good. He can see there's no championship soon and Leslie will not reunite him with his friend so I'd leave too. Hell, I would've left after one year with Clyde.

 

But can you make up words/phrases that can become CF memes?

 

Bill is the Hakeem of sportscaster in Houston. Rockets games won't be the same after Bill Worrell. Real Rocket fans appreciate him and his tenure here

He should do well. I heard a radio broadcast he did solo one day and he was talking a mile a minute doing the play by play and the analysis. Play by play is a lot harder on radio so going to TV should be a breeze for him.

 

Ill miss him too...really enjoyed his broadcasting...

that being said...this still scares me
