I registered almost immediately when I found the site... so no lurking here! Straight up contribution from day one. Well... probably the opposite of contribution... think I was bringing down the collective bball IQ at first
2004. I used to read posts but I never really made an account till I was almost done with grade school.
I have been coming to the website sporadically in the late 90's. Probably around 1998'ish? I remember reading about Scottie Pippen. Back when it was clutchcity.net and I also remember seeing a picture of Mario Elie on the front page. Wayyyyyyy back Didn't know there was a message board until about 2003. (Steve Francis years) I Lurked here and there for a while. Created a user-name in about 2004 but never posted. I ended up forgetting that user-name as I the email address I used to register back then is LONG gone. (Back when you couldn't register with free email services like Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail...etc) Joined AGAIN in 2008 during the 22-Win game streak because I just wanted to be a part of the action. Looking back, even that was EIGHT YEARS ago... Man how time sure does fly by. Oh, and I also have my hand like that too lol
My uncle got home service a little before most people I know. Prodigy Internet! Spoiler I'd try to look "cool" to my friends reading Chronicle sports ONLINE giving them the scoops the day BEFORE they got it in paper, like what sorcery is this 'intrawebs' ?! '96 1st Clutchcity visit but '97-98 regularly cuz I moved away and didnt have access again for a while. I always conflate together reading 2nd title news in Chron.com and reading CF as one in the same (but of course the "clutchcity" term happened DURING and AFTER the title run so Clutch would have been VERY PROPHETIC and HIPSTER to have had a Clutchcity site already up BEFORE it became cool lol) I tried registering 3-4 times early on but it wouldnt allow my email. '03 finally registered when CF somehow allowed some weird email. '05 CF required a donation to access the site during playoffs vs Mavs which I did happily ... I actually didnt even post until '07 with the Battier trade. So it took a WHOLE DECADE to FINALLY join in the action And its been almost a decade SINCE..... #CoolStoryBro
The earliest I can definitely say is 1998 in the ClutchCity.com days. I visited on the public library computers pre-2000. <blockquote class="imgur-embed-pub" lang="en" data-id="a/NwxmM"><a href="//imgur.com/NwxmM"></a></blockquote><script async src="//s.imgur.com/min/embed.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Found the site in 97, I think, read and lurked until I signed up for the boards. Strange but this site has been a regular part of my life for nearly 20 years.....
I started lurking around the early Yao and T-Mac days, so around 2004-2005. I couldn't stand to see anything Rockets after they were bounced in the playoffs so I would avoid this site until the start of the next year. I finally signed-up 5 years later.
