Eh, I think the defense is more suspect than the midfield at this point. Clichy and Kolarov too inconsistent. Sagna and Zabaleta probably past their primes. Kompany can't stay healthy. A lot will ride on Stones ability to pick up the system quickly enough. I think the midfield will be in good shape with Gundogan, but he is also recovering from injuries. Toure was arguably the best player in the PL 2 seasons ago, but he's been nowhere near that form the past couple seasons. Silva is also getting older, but KDB has already kind of taken over his role as the creative engine. The attack is youthful, like United with Rashford and Martial, City have Iheancho, KDB, and Sane. Pep has done the right thing by buying younger talent like Sane, Stones, and Gabriel Jesus to replace aging has-beens like Nasri.
I don't think this is correct. LFC hasn't depended on Sturridge for 2 years now. I think he's played a total of what... 2 games the last 3 seasons? He's like Greg Oden. Origi and Ings will have to stay healthy and perform.
EPL season is upon us baby and looking deeper than ever. Expect Vardy and fellow Algerian Mahrez to continue right where they left off last season although it will be extremely difficult to defend the title with the league looking much stronger than last year. And what in the world is going on with Hull City? Only 13 players available for the opener, with 1 CB on the roster..fans are protesting before the game and their temporary manager already waived the white flag ahead of the opener: 'Hull caretaker manager Mike Phelan on whether his squad is capable of competing with Leicester: "I would say no, simply because of the injuries - and the injuries are not short term' http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/36994520 Top 5 Prediction: 1. Leicester 2. Man U 3. Arsenal 4. Man City 5. Chelsea Don't ever underestimate the heart of a champion!
Arsenal just needed that one striker..... sure it sucked and like every not news 1. Man U, Man City 2. Spurs, Leicester 3. Arsenal, Leicester City 4. Chelsea or Liverpool 5. Liverpool or Chelsea or Westham 6. Westham Westham intrigues me very much - Fehgouli, Payet, Andre Ayew, Kouyate, Lanzini, Noble, Carroll, Sakho
And that's why I love the EPL. Glad it's back. Depleted Hull stunning the champions. Totally unpredictable.
Mane ain't so bad. I'm going to hold on and not get my hopes too high tho. We still don't have a proper striker.
Joe Hart supposedly been told he can leavs by Pep and Claudio Bravo will replace him as City's new #1 after the Supercopa on Wednesday.
Premier League is so brutal. Only Arsenal and City will compete for top 4 among last season's group. LC will be lucky to finish top half and Tottenham top 6 Prediction 1) Liverpool (finally and due to no European competition) 2) City (deep in CL) 3) United (deep in Europa) 4) Arsenal (they find a way) 5) West Ham (Early exit Europa) 6) Chelsea 7) Tottenham (knock out CL then out)
City under Pep looks good 5-0 in Champions league qualifyers Aguero with 3 goals and 2 missed penalties
To be expected vs weak opponents, Pep's weakness is vs. tier 1 opponents that have a good balance and are able to score on counter attacks, don't be fooled by victories vs. mediocre teams.
I am not fooled. City has not won something major, well for their entire club history. Oh, I guess they won a PL championship somewhere down the line. If they can get to semi finals of the CL it should be viewed as a moderate success! I am rooting for them because I cannot stand United and City had one of the best Asian players in their club history.
News from Germany: - Mario Gomez probably to Wolfsburg for 7 Mio. € - Kingsley Coman got injured in training today and will miss several weeks
They had one of the most memorable PL championship moments in recent memory. Watching ManU's disappointed faces after waiting on the field for the final verdict was priceless. They had Edin Džeko, whom I really like at that time. I don't like anyone in City now and I don't like Pep, so I hope they don't win.
