UM.......Pia could never win the World Cup. Pia is basically playing park the bus and hoping for a counter or making it to PK's.

Kerri Walsh Jennings played terribly. It's weird they kept saying she was nervous. how can the GOAT be nervous? See has seen it all before, right? Oh well, had to end at some point.

that beach volleyball match shows how real the home country bump can be. something tells me that brazilian team just played the match of their lives in front of that super-enthusiastic home crowd. not that i watch a ton of beach volleyball, but that was easily the most diving saves and digs i've ever seen from a team. they got to absolutely everything and virtually never mis-hit the ball even when diving. and on normal plays, their hitting and placement was impeccable and as top notch as it can be.

throw in walsh-jennings playing easily the worst i've seen her play (those shanked serves up 18-16 in the 1st were brutal) and it's no surprise they lost. that one point in the second set where walsh blasted it and the brazilian just stuck out her arm and somehow got it and knocked it perfectly to her teammate made it seem obvious which they this one would go. of course that was quickly followed up with the point of the match where walsh and ross each tried to quick hit a ball they should have set and threw another point away and that was that.

There wer least 6 times where Ross had good chance to get the ball but she did not and how many times did Ross try to block a spike no more than 3 Jennings does 80%+ of trying to block spikes.

She only coached one Word Cup for the US. I could see your point if she was the manger of multiple losing teams. She had a better result than the last 2 managers before her. Plus, Japan was the team of destiny that year with the Tsunami. Pia won (most) everything else.

Parking the Bus is terrible to watch, but what else is Sweden supposed to do when the other team is more talented? Seriously, what are they supposed to do? I'm only a casual soccer fan.

I was being sarcastic when I said "Pia is the best coach". Anybody can coach USWNT and win.

Where's Misty May when you need her. The commentator the whole time was pissing me off saying that there will be an upset if Brazil wins. wth man brazil was rank number 2 and Ross/Walsh is rank 3. Brazil just played a better game that day and nice butts

She only coached in one for the USWNT. For as ugly as it looks, parking the bus can work. Look at how Portugal played the Euro this summer.

Yep, agree with a lot of this. They took advantage of poor play from the USA pair early, and by the time Ross/Walsh-Jennings started to get back on track, the Brazilian pair was flying high and couldn't do any wrong.

I'm certainly not a beach volleyball expert, but I think, outside of some of those sloppy points early on for the USA, that was the highest-level beach volleyball I've seen.

Brazil crowd still very butthurt, booing Germany. Still it might happen, our guys are up 1-0 and the Nigerian defense looks weak.

Great effort from our footballers. Now playing for gold with just one week preparation and missing key players like Kimmich, Sané, Weigl, Volland and Goretzka. Would be awesome to make Neymar cry again, really looking forward to the final on saturday.

I know nothing about vollyball except the brazil team kept wearing those full body suits with bikinis on top. That angered and confused me.

having said that, how was this an upset when Brazil was seeded higher?
