Russia is a rival. Putin accepts the United States as the world's only super power. And he wants to see balance on the globe. This isn't Cold War level stuff, but it isn't like Russia is an ally like Britain is or even Australia or France. There is a reason Russian and U.S. interests are conflicting in Syria. Putin's ideas about the U.S. have hardened and darkened over time. And accordingly, Putin's approach on the international stage has become more aggressive. There is too much on google to verify this.
it's weird and eerie how quickly conservative wackjobs who were the cultural descendants of rabid anticommunism of the John Birch-type have turned into pro Russia/Putin mouthpieces.
Hillary is doing a lot of ads here in Indiana, I guess she think she has a shot here. Indiana could turn really blue this cycle with governor and both senators and presidential elections all going democrat's way (Joe is already in the senate).
Black presidents do that to thin skinned conservatives. This whole phenomenon started when conservatives started sting they wish they had a strong leader like Putin instead of Obama. They dont even know or choose to ignore how Putin is wrecking his country's economy.
Pardon me for being blunt, but this is the stupidest post I'm seen here in a week, which is covering a lot of ground. Ask our European allies what they think of Putin and Russia. Ask Finland. Ask Georgia. Ask Ukraine. Ask Japan. They would all look at you with a funny expression, wondering what rock you crawled out from under. With all due respect.
Seriously though, it is weird how some Republicans have gotten so pro Russia all of a sudden. Once upon a time not that long ago a candidate of either party would have been run out on a rail for having the kind of ties to Russia that Trump has. All more evidence that the Republican party must die and a new party should rise.

The Senate is doing what it should be doing. Regardless how bad one may think the other party is, its never good when the same small minority(the rich and powerful elite of one party) run our entire government. Again, the Republican party is not dead. They wont win the Presidency because they simply refuse to put forth a good candidate. Also, again, Trump does not represent Republicans. This election should show how ****ed up our system is. A very few rabid minorities took advantage of the primaries and locked Trump in. Essentially this small group has all but elected Hillary by generating enough support to lock in a candidate who is not serious about winning the GE. When parties start electing extremists who do not represent the median of the population, its leaves a vacuum of power to be exploited by others. Congress really needs minority parties to be represented to disrupt this problem.
I know you really, really want to believe this about your party, but as Trump likes to often remind us, he got more votes in the primary than any GOP candidate in primary history. It wasn't a small group that selected him. More people chose him than had any chosen any previous GOP candidate. And when he got down to a 1-on-1 battle with the second most popular GOP choice, he beat that guy too, so it's not like the never-Trump people were a majority.
That's a pretty big failure in service of the nation. Whatever could motivate Republicans to be so selfishly anti-democratic? I'd say they lost their special right to be one of the dependable Big Two parties. Trump had a whole Republican National Convention devoted to him, four nights, prime time.
They did - that tends to happen when you have an unpredecented 17 candidates. And despite those 17 candidates all pulling votes, he still received more votes than any primary candidate in GOP history. There's no way to call that a small minority of the party. If he was selected by a small minority, then every other candidate in the GOP was selected by virtually no one at all. Hard to argue that those guys represent the "real GOP" and Trump does not.
Yeah but more voted against him even if you only count those who voted for Cruz, Rubio, and Kasich. The ONLY reason he won was due to the fact that there were 17 candidates for so long to dilute the voter pool. If he was just running against one or two candidates, he'd have ended up a distant third.....hell even if the Republicans had a system like the Democrats with superdelegates it would have prevented Trump from winning. Anyway, I'm sure there are some Republicans that are represented by this con man, but it's nowhere near the majority.
Not even Republicans want to be Republicans. I've been waiting since Reagan for them to face reality. They can't even find one person to represent them. What else can they not do as they govern our country? Supreme Court? Hahaha. Are they saving a seat for Sarah Palin? What a shameful failure by the Republican Party.
Well yeah, if the Republican party is the party of Trump then sure, no one will want to be part of that nonsense. Honestly I think that party should die and a new conservative party should rise over the Trump BS.
Dont bother. I've stopped replying to people who use micro-statistics to try and make their point. Hillary Clinton and Hitler could run on the Republican ticket and Major would use the results to prove one or the other represent the Republican party. At the end of the day,4 ****ty candidates are still 4 ****ty candidates. Trump is just the one who has landed at the top. Major would struggle to find people who actually support Trump instead of voting against Clinton.
Well dur dur dur. Another insightful post by sirbaihu. Welcome to two decades ago. Its been established 20 years ago the Republican party has been fracturing. Yes, people have been jumping out of the Republican party. This is a common cycle when the voting block of a party feels betrayed by the party elitist. For some odd reason you find this unacceptable. Should Republicans stick to their party elites like the left voting block is sticking to Hillary and their elites? You do understand politics is not some sport where only the amount of points on the score board matter? You should define what you believe and not let your team dictate what you should believe.
