    Did you not watch the Portland series in 2009??? It was embarrassing how easily he was completely neutralized starting in Game 2, I think.

    That is a coaching problem. JVG had that fronting D completely figured out when Yao was going for 25 a game... We were KILLING the fronting defense nightly.

    Hope you're joking. Adelman is one of the greatest offensive masterminds in the history of the NBA.

    Well, call me a skeptic, but I find it hard to believe that the coach our esteemed OP just called one of the best doesn't know as much as posters on CF.

    I think we just remember things differently. I remember fronting issues throughout Yao's career - not always in the regular season b/c teams didn't gameplan. I'd hear from the analyst and just about everybody else how easy it is to beat fronting; yet, we didn't do it that often.

    Yao was just flawed. He was never on a Tim Duncan's level.
