I expect Yuli to be the main DH with occasional starts at 3B once he's up.

    True

Except with the roster Luhnow gives Hinch from time to time who knows

One week Castro is playing 1B

The next we have 3 bench guys, 2 of which are 1Bs only and the other a catcher

Yes, they got burned that one game where Valbuena got hurt, Reed had just been sent down, and Marwin happened to be the DH... but it shouldn't be a regular thing.

I actually thought that was more on Hinch as he did decide who would be in the lineup, and knew full/well what would need to happen if somebody got hurt.

They have plenty more contingency options now... and in 2 weeks, rosters expand.

I'm going to the game on Tuesday night. Any chance he will play for the Astros that soon?

    That's the plan.

He has typically sat the first game when he has gone to a new level, and played in the second. Luhnow is pretty stuck in his ways on certain things, so I would expect a pinch hitting appearance at most Tuesday with a Wednesday first start

If he keeps up this pace, he could really help our offense in Houston

Glad the FO isn t rushing things. Bregman is playing a spectacular 3B and starting to take care of the 2 hole in the lineup.

I went a few rounds on this on Twitter; such a silly notion that a 4-5 night means he's ready...

He's 32 and spent 15 seasons tearing apart the Cuban league; his ML stint should be similar to a rehab assignment: knock off rust and regain timing; performance be damned.

I'm still asking why he wasn't in shape when pen met paper? Did he not know he was signing up? Couldn't have started training a month earlier? 4 AB a game is truly asking too much?

Ideally... its funny that they just can't seem to shake the "need to go to every level" criteria they have for the prospects, even when it largely is irrelevant when he's only spending 1-2 weeks at each place.

At least he gets to see Fresno...? Its his tour of America!

What if he hasn't regained his timing? He hasn't been playing any baseball in a while - it's like spring training for him.

Even Roger Clemens went through this process.

I don't have a problem with how they're handling it. No need to rush and give him a chance to get his timing back. Training and playing in actual games are 2 completely different things...even in baseball.
