I checked game cast and saw two men on. Had this strange feeling a HomeRun was about to come. Check ESPN boxscore and son of a biatch.
That's exactly what I was thinking on hoping the ump had called that 3-0 pitch a ball (it was) keeping him up at bat felt like it was asking for trouble.
i said the same thing. all the more reason to stick him in the game in a high leverage situation. i'm not one that goes out of my way to bash hinch, but he's lost.
it just seemed silly to bring in a newbie for such a clutch situation. if feliz or pat get shelled than no biggie. they've been your go to guys all year.
Ya interesting spot to bring in someone like Hoyt but I don't know enough about him to judge. If he's always had control issues than you definitely question why hinch would put him into that high leveraged situation.
The only way you can justify Hinch going with Hoyt in that spot is because he's saving Feliz for the role of closer today. Other than that was another head scratching move there.
Gonzalez just struck out by swinging at only one pitch with not a single strike being thrown. Impressive.
