??? It is better for gyms to be other team so you can take it over. Much easier that way to collect gym rewards.

Too many people using the park means costs go up. Literally their logic. They want to build parks but not promote their use because it is expensive. Genius.

Is that what you call "people using the park." Some might say this is stopping people from using the park.

I've been a regular at Hermann park for a very long time. The crowds have made it more enjoyable by far and safer. Everywhere you go you are in eyesight of witnesses with 911 capable devices out. Discouraging law abiding people from coming to a public park is indefensible.

Asking Niantic to shut off Pokemon isn't "Discouraging" ppl from going to the park. I'm not sure I agree with the City on this or not, but let's not say they are infringing on people's rights by turning off Pokemon. That's a wee bit silly.

article also says it was past park closing hours, and the vid shows the time clearly posted. There are a lot of parks with closing hours.

Yes, people were at Hermann Park past closing hours (11pm) also. They adjusted by having a single patrol car announce the park was closed. Not a bad idea for a park IMO. Should have had that before Pokemon Go.

When they ask for millions to build parks like $182 million Discovery Green ( $31 million to build centennial gardens and plow rose garden) cost they don't mention that if it becomes too popular steps will be taken because the extra trash fees will be overwhelming.

I'm curious if a piece of art in the park drew as many visitors if it would be removed. They like to build the parks they don't much like people to use the parks.

Curious. Does Rice campus have Pokestops? Or does Niantic stay away from private universities. That would be an interesting dilemma to Rice's security policy of encouraging kids to stay on campus, while also discouraging non-students from hanging out on campus late at night. With no Pokestops, the kids would wander over to Hermann Park ... and vice versa if there were Pokestops.

Just failed to catch a 1000+ Scyther using Ultraballs.

First time trying the new balls and totally disappointed.

Do people actually think what sort of ball you use makes much difference?

Not enough to justify the rarity.

Definitely, makes a difference. A 1000+ Scyther probably has a catch rate of about 20%. I think Ultraballs would bring that up to about 40%. The difference isn't that huge, though .

This discovery green thing is similar to them not building lit basketball courts at parks. They want to "right" sort of people to use parks instead of actually caring that the public use these spaces. This is a combination of age (teenage), gender (male), and race discrimination at its most odious.
