'Lock Up All The Black Hoodies': DOJ Report Details Abuses By Baltimore Police

You're presenting a false choice. There is no cop killing side in any mainstream of America. There is a huge police brutality denial side in the mainstream of America.

 

They're not in the mainstream of America. They're lunatics. There's a significant number of people, quite a mainstream of people who don't care or even want to know that police brutalize minority communities. You can't compare some fringe weirdo militant black separatist groups to soccer moms. There's no comparison.

 

I think the major problem here is how often people champion fraudulent cases of "brutality" and it just kills any credibility those who are selling the idea of widespread brutalization of minority communities by police.

To start with the case is pretty weak, and after championing false examples of police brutality just makes it a joke.

 

So a couple pieces post random videos of 'black' females misbehaving and causing strife and you assume these FBI reports and documents are just BS? This is what fuels the anger of a community.

Oh it's not just that, the whole reason for the report was an effort to save face after going all out in the fraudulent case of Freddy Grey. Before that there was the "hands up, don't shoot" nonsense related to another fake police brutality case......but they came out with a report there to save face after embarrassing themselves as well.

What ends up happening is that you have people overreact to false allegations of police brutality and then when it becomes clear that the case is BS, you get a report saying "Sure the police didn't do anything wrong in the case that led to this report, but they are all racist so your r****ded nonsense as a result of that case was justifiable still".

Honestly the only potentially legitimate case I can even think of recently was the Minnesota case where the cop shot that CHL guy. Every other case I can think of ended up being illegitimate.

I never understood that neither. We have the right to murder you because you are poor? or black and poor? or a marginalized person of color and poor? What kind of BS is that?

 

Point to an actual example of that if you want people to think that is what is going on. I certainly haven't heard of one recently and I doubt you have either.

The report clearly indicate things such as this

Stuff police say:

“Lock up all the black hoodies,” ordered one commander.
“Do not treat criminals like citizens,” said an officer on Facebook.
The N-word: There are at least 60 citizen reports of the police calling Blacks the N-word – yet only one police report brings it up.

Right in front of one DOJ investigator, a police supervisor told an officer to “make something up” when asked what reason he should give to break up a peaceful assembly of Black males.

Why would the Department of Justice need to intervene and state that there needed to be reform if the police would doing such a fine good job? Your logic and denial simply doesn't make sense and you know it.

 

So you're saying absolutely no instances of cops murdering people for being "black and poor"? Yeah, I thought not.

 

Anytime I read anything involving Baltimore drugs or their PD I think of the Wire. Corruption in that city runs rampant.

 

The Wire is a dramatization. I have watched it but I am made to believe that there positive outcomes every few episodes or so that doesn't happen in real Baltimore.

 

Oh I'm aware it's a dramatization but it was based on the book Homicide which covered a year in the homicide division in Baltimore PD. I used to think it'd be ridiculous for inmates to run the drug trade while behind bars. That's just some stuff you hear from guys like Pablo Escobar. Then you see it's more common in Baltimore and probably elsewhere than you think.
