After going to Mania last year, the yearly visit they make to Australia doesn't seem anywhere NEAR as worth attending. But snatched myself up some late tickets for this Saturday night when I saw the card. Roman Reigns vs Seth Rollins John Cena vs AJ Styles Finn Balor vs Chris Jericho WWE Tag Team Championship: The New Day vs Braun Strowman and Erick Rowan Sami Zayn vs Kevin Owens United States Championship Match: Titus O’Neil vs Rusev w/Lana The Usos vs Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson Sasha Banks vs Charlotte and Dana Brooke Apollo Crews vs Sheamus
Holy ****in ****. That was a match. The yellow man and the black man puttin on a show. That **** was ill as ****!
Did anyone see the end credits when the crowd chanted please sign Cedric and triple H came out? I cried like a girl.
Anybody check out the new WWE page on ESPN? Regardless of how you feel about ESPN its still a pretty good page and WWE is giving them a lot of access.
It looked to me like triple H was pissed or something and immediately grabbed him and took him to the back
No, it looked like he was about too give him a WWE contract. Loved that and those matches were fantastic. Would like too see Tajiri back for a while, he hasn't lost a step.
HOLY ****!!!! THAT IS GOING TO CHANGE THE LANDSCAPE FOR WRESTLING!!! This G1 has been better than last year and that's with Styles/Nakamura/Anderson/Gallows. They even drew more attendance than last year's too. So it's safe to say, New Japan is doing pretty good with their top dogs leaving. WOW!!! I am in shock!!! My picks were either Naito or Tanahashi. The booking has been phenomenal in this G1 tournament!
Interesting factoid that I didn't know about the G1: 1. Kenny Omega is not the first westerner to win the G1 2. It was Masahiro Chono- he's ethnically Japanese but he was born in the U.S 3. The G1 was under a different title and it didn't change to its current name until 1991? 4. Omega is fluent in Japanese but lives in Japan. So he's basically a citizen of Japan?
Anyone else super bummed Shelton Benjamin isn't coming back after all? Apparently he is hurt and will be out 6 months to a year... This could have been his last shot
EdiT: was before they changed the name from International Grand Prix to G1 but really the same tournament
pretty pissed off that Takeover tickets has gone down SIGNIFICANTLY in price on the secondary market, like $30 before fees, I bought 3 pairs since they got better and better, sold 1 at face value, lost about $40 on the 2nd pair just get rid of it before losing more money. I got Raw tickets, but skipping out on it to spend more time with my fam, was able to sell them for what I paid for on Stubhub and I'm going to Raw the next week here anyway with better seats. Should be a badass weekend with both Takeover and Summerslam having STACKED cards.
