Melo gets a lot of hate from NBA fans, but he played extremely well this game and is a huge reason why US won.

Clay thompkins is the only reason the usa almost lost if he didn't play they would have won by 50. Typical warriors trash

Klay, Green, and KD shot a combined 8/29 against the Aussies

Lol we get to play this game again. Are they role players made better by Curry, or is Curry made better by playing with 2 stars? You losers can't have it both ways.

Hugely proud of the Aussie boys. They turned it into a game - regardless of whether people thought the USA played poorly or otherwise.
USA have been smashing teams until today.
I don't think for a second the USA won't win gold, but hoping the Aussies can get a medal. They've done themselves really proud today.

Australia played great. I don't think the USA played particularly poorly... a lot of the missed shots were due to tough defense. The Boomers should have a strong chance to medal, and they could've been even better if they had Exum and Simmons.

Why didn't Irving play for Australia? He developed his game there.

I think he was born in Australia but developed his game in the States. Could be wrong.

He developed his game in the US, unless he was balling at 1yrs old.
His dad played in the NBL here in Australia where Kyrie was born, but they moved back to the US when he was 2.
He played under coach K in college. In 2012 Australia were trying to get Kyrie to play for Australia (who has duel citizenship), but problem was he'd already played for USA in juniors and Coach K convinced him to stick with the US.

    Melo's defense sucks

    Starting lineup should be:

    Cousins
    Green
    Durant
    George
    Lowry

we (team usa) needed a game like this. preps them for the medal round. i remember 4 years ago when lithuania was giving us a good game in the prelims (won 99-94). i still expect usa to win gold obviously but not a 30pt blow every game like most expect.

The hate is strong in you. USA loses if not for Melo. I think the cavs should do a melo, love trade I think it would work best for everyone. I don't think love is a good fit with cavs.

Argentina vs. Lithuania is on right now.

Good matchup and both teams are undefeated (2-0).

Why not? The relationship is definitely mutualistic
