Johnson, who was the Astros' 16th-round pick from Missouri State, now has 30 home runs in this calendar year. He led Division I with 24 in the spring. Not a major prospect, but a little tidbit for you.

GONE-SON! Between Greeneville and Tri-City, Tyler Britton has a 41:3 K:BB ratio in 26 innings. Britton was the Astros' 23rd-round pick out of High Point in June.
Imagine having JD Martinez as the Left fielder, Villar as the 3rd baseman, Fowler as the Center Fielder. Three guys the Astros virtually gave away and got absolutely nothing for them. What is sad about giving up on JD Martinez was he was a consistent .250 hitter. An average most of the guys on the team can't even fathom of reaching. Sure others were rated better prospects, but it's no different than when Altuve was thought to be keeping 2nd base warm for when Delino DeShields was ready to move up.
Fowler has already been a free agent since Houston traded him for Chicago so even if they hadn't done that he wouldn't still be playing for them. Also, Valbuena has put up comparable value stats to Fowler, and they had him for an extra year. It's a shame about Martinez and Villar but there's nothing they can do about it now.
