Casual reminder that we have 42MM off the books this offseason (Rasmus, Gogo, Castro, Val, Fister). I think we'll add 1-2 premium bats, maybe Braun and Encarnacion? Very bright future, and lots of season left...hopefully we can turn it around

Everyone here has been wondering why Kemp wasnt called up sooner. Seriously, it's frustrating giving so much time and energy to this team and witnessing them being one step behind. I also think Teoscar should be up, because he cant possibly go worse than 0-4. It's worth a shot, specially when your offense cant get anything going.
Even then... If prospects and bright futures were all it took, the A's and the Rays would've hoisted trophyafter trophy. There's just too much pre-set thinking by this front office. Their development system is still largely unproven, yet they stick with stringent timetables/rules as if every player will graduate as a professional regardless. They have contingencies on when or why they will make trades...this year likely being that if they didn't get a front line starter, they weren't going to trade away more prospects for lineup help. It's great that they'll never bottom out again...but I'm not thrilled about their presumptory attitude that they don't need to try to win now because they will have more chances in the future.
Bregman will be fine. It's Tucker/Reed that have no business being in the big leagues right now (especially not if they're without Valbuena/Rasmus and Gomez continues to show nothing).
Yup, Bregman needs to just go through his bumps and bruises, it's clear he is a ball player. Tucker should not be on the roster and Reed needs more time to get to MLB read status.
