Rangers are so lucky. Lucroy & Hamels are only there because they blocked trades to other teams. Crazy.
Sipp is terrible at giving up the long ball.... Chalk this one up.... Ump with terrible strike zone... And bullpen blowing it .
Who needs a good, cheap catcher under control for another 1 1/2 years when you have Gattis & Castro? We have the #3 farm system, according to MLB.com.
Rangers broadcast watcher? Rangers fan. GTFO my face old man, that baloney sammich was off the plate and the ump knew it.
I honestly wonder what our front office was anticipating. For White and Reed to not be sacks of ****? For Gomez to not be the worst player in the entire league? For Bregman to turn around his 1-whatever he was at the trade deadline?
Ugh **** getting owned by both new guys, a ****ty former Stros pitcher who didn't have it still managed somehow & a huge K zone with our bats cold yet again. Fun times lol Also Sipp sucks just sucks this year.
this team just frustrates ppl because of the potential they have & basically ruin it by silly mistakes.
Lucky? Or opportunistic? It's not like they got those guys for free... Hell, their catching situation prior to Lucroy wasn't a huge weakness, but they still went for it.
Man out of all the moves that have been made, Rasmus and that QO angers me more than anything. I like the guy and sad it's turned out that way but he's cost us more than anyone else...that $16M could have been used on a different bat.
He doesn't live in the Houston area and has Dish. Even here in Houston those pitches were borderline.
This game shows you why the Astros fans were frustrated during the trade deadline. Rangers got even stronger.
The guys listed shouldn't have been seen as the answer anyway. Valbuena has had a solid year, Marwin is a good utility player but not an everyday player and the other three just shouldn't be seen as good enough to be content with. The organization banked on the prospects coming in filling holes. Other contenders have better mixture of proven talent and youth. Astros will learn hopefully to stop being cheap and do more in the off season at least if they want to prove they are ready to really contend.
Lineup issues aside... Not sure what the overall plan with Feliz is. I know they probably want to conserve the arm to try him as a starter someday, but that's also leading to inconsistent work which is yielding inconsistent results. Using Devo and Sipp in a close game against this lineup (despite Devo being great as of late) was a bit questionable for me.
Nobody was claiming they were all "answers"... But they were/are vital parts of the equation for THIS year. You take them all away.... And you have no other MLB player additions... And you get a 2 week stretch like this one.
