Pool is beating Barca 4-0 but in a friendly still a surprise with Messi, Rakitic, Ex Pooler Suarez playing.
Thumps up for Klopp, not answering questions from "Sun" anymore, apparentely because they accused Dejan Lovren's wife to have an affair. Wish footballers in Germany had the balls to not work with the same disgusting creatures from "Bild".
Wow... 120 Mio. € for a relatively unproven player that has just performed not so well in the Euro tournament? Will be even more fun to laugh at United now.
I don't think it's fair to use his performance in the Euro as a long term outlook for what he might do (this time around) with ManU. Sometimes, the system isn't set up for particular players to shine.
Still, a player that gets paid like this should do a little better, shouldn't he? From what I've seen in the Champions League, Pogba wasn't too impressive either. Huge gamble for Mourinho and United.
Maybe but, as weird as it is to say this, I trust that Mourinho knows what he's doing and how Pogba makes this team better. They looked fairly good today in beating Leicester City for the Community Shield. I think this is the first of many trophies to be won by United this season.
Stones to City is finally a done deal at 47.5 million pounds. Big fee for sure but in the Premier League you always pay a inflated rate for top English talent. This will probably be the last major signing for City in this window to go along with Sane, Nolito, and Gundogan as the major moves of the summer, while locking up some potential future talent in Gabriel Jesus, Moreno and Zinchenko. Love what City was able to pull off and super excited not only for the now but the future as well.
United and City are definitely going to be stronger. Chelsea really has nowhere to go but up. Klopp is starting to turn Liverpool into a machine. Tottenham and Leicester will probably take a step back.
Bayern folks...curious on your thoughts about Julian Green making the first team. Seems like he would still be better off on a loan. I can't imagine him seeing the field very often with the talent in front of him. Though, the accomplishment is impressive...
Green was played for marketing reasons, to gain more attraction during the U.S. tour. He might see a few minutes in the first games like Gaudino did two years ago - but that's it. Like you said, the amount of talent is just too much. Another loan wouldn't make any sense since he didn't even get playing time in Hamburg. Guess he'll see some more Regionalliga action or moves to a minor league.
I don't see why we can't challenge for the PL this year. A very brief run down of the other challengers. City - aging star players, midfield is still suspect, Kun is injury prone Chelsea - not really sure what to make of them, Conte is completely unproven in England, Kante is a good signing though Arsenal - Not sure what Wenger is waiting for in the transfer market, sill need a forward, injury prone squad, half of the defenders are missing Liverpool - might be a dark horse challenger if Klopp can keep them fresh, but a lot of hope falls on the shoulders of an injury prone Sturridge Tottenham - small squad, more games, high pressing game will gas them later in the season Leicester - needs to sort out the Mahrez deal, more games, still a relatively small squad, should expect a drop off from last season
Valencia and German national team defender Shkodran Mustafi is on the verge of joining Arsenal. Could be the right move for him to make the next step.
