    Popping up bunts... smh

Marwin got away with it last game, but Bregman didn't today.

The god, Altuve, comes through again.

    5-0 Stros!!

should be a new analytics situation, if we have a possibility to hit into a dp, with someone not named altuve or correa, just take a strikeout. bunt the forgotten art. =/

There was nothing pointless about bunting there. It was not a bad idea at all, just horrible execution.

Lost in all of this, Keuchel has thrown 7 innings of 2 hit shut out ball.

What's the point? Man on first and second with nobody out, with the lead.

You don't give away free outs in that situation.

After this inning lets get Kelechel out. We always leave him in too long.

This is the Cy-Young winner from last year.

Because the Rangwrs are an explosive team.

You have a guy at the plate that's slumping, who has a chance to sacrifice himself to put two runners in scoring position for the possible AL MVP, and stay out of the double play as well, I'll gladly take it. If they decided to pitch around Altuve, they'd face Correa with the Bases Loaded.

Not a bad idea, just poor execution.

Great job by Dallas tonight! At least I didn't have to read that Hinch was a more for leaving Dallas in the game I. The dreaded 8th inning.

Again, if you're worried that the Rangers are an explosive team, you dont give up an out for the sake of a sacrifice in that situation. If it was a 0-0, then sure, it's worth trying to manufacture 1 run...but didn't make sense in that situation other than just trying to be cute. It served no real purpose. If Bregman was a proficient bunter, then I could try to understand. How many times has Bregman bunted in that situation?

Get your Keuchel 9th inning opinions in now.

    Should he pitch or not?

    I say, No.

I don't see it as trying to be cute. I see it as a player who is two for 30 something at bat and the best hitter in baseball behind him, so I don't see any problem with him giving himself up when Altuve's possible single could score two players.

Oh well agree to disagree! Let's just be happy we are up 5-0 right now.

I don't mind it. He's earned it and what better way to snap out of a horrifying slump against the Rangers than a complete game shut out? Obviously it may not go that way if we leave him in, but my answer is leave him in but on a short leash. Two players reach and he's gone.
