[Houston News] Dave Ward

It sounds unbelievable... and yes, amazing. I wonder if anyone will top that or is topping that NOW.

Dave was 10pm news for me. I remember growing up watching him. I can't believe he's been at KTRK longer than I've been alive. LOL. It's incredible how many people that came and went through that station who sat/stood next to Dave and have moved onto other Houston stations or other markets. Dave's a legend. Even though I haven't lived in Houston for 16-17 years, I still miss watching him on the news.

 

Lol, this is what came right to my mind, along with "Good evening friends, I'm Dave Ward".

 

Tonight is Dave's final 10pm newscast.

Dave Ward is the man.

 

More than anybody else, he *is* Houston news to me.

Wish him well in his future endeavors.

 

How does he have such great hair at age 80?

 

Dave on dialing for dollars is one of my first TV memories.

 

I had the pleasure of working with him for a short time When I interned at 13 in the early 90s. He was a nice guy

 

I don't live in H-town anymore but of course have fond memories of Ward.

The 48 years thing is truly truly mind-blowing. He deserves some national cred for the feat.

Does anyone else think that Jim Nantz stile his "Hello friends" stick from Dave Ward? With him going to college at UH and obviously seeing Ward do his thing, I'm quite curious to see if that's where he got it.

 

He was a true professional...

 

oh wow...Dave's the man...glad he will still be on at 6...HOF in broadcast journalism for sure...

 

Dave should be in Kia Race to the MVP.

 

Big shout out to Dave Ward! He's definitely part of my childhood memories.. Tom Koch is another guy! Remember watching him every morning before heading off to school. I'm damn near 40 years old now!! Cherish the moments because they go by quick.. everyday that passes is another 24 hours closer to our last one.
