Not even close - not one bit of fact in his speech. This is the same trickle down message that Reagan fed us and decimated the middle class in this country, only now it's been amended to include blacks among the recipients of the trickle-down.

Um it's definitely not the same thing as trickle down, though there is some of that in there.

I think it's about as honest a speech on racial issues and the failures of Republicans that any Republican has given.

Furthermore, the article touches heavily on criminal justice reform, cutting the cost of college education, etc. I don't see how you can say there is NOTHING "fact" in the article.

Any ways, Agreed.

I always say that GOP's problem with minorities isn't policy, it's that many minority groups (and in this case, African-Americans) don't feel the same empathy that they do from the GOP that they do the DNC.

Any ways this was a good read.

 

I give him full credit that he recognize some of the problems. That's a great start for a party that refuses to acknowledge much of anything based on simple facts. But it's the solution - well, at least on the national level - that is the problem. Not every problem is solved through tax cuts.

What the GOP needs is for Trump to completely destroy it and return back as a party that, like Perry stated here, recognize the problems based on data and facts, and unlike today GOP, propose some solid and sensible solutions.

 

End the war on drugs and there would be a lot more Black Liberty

 

There are so many misfacts in that article it's hard to get through it and take anything away from it when the underlying premise he is using to draw conclusions upon are simply not true.

 

Also convince black guys to not sell drugs and go to trade school.

 

He had an unprecedentedly long time to actually change those sorts of things here in Texas. He did nothing of the sort, and actually did the opposite on occasion.

As you should be. As everyone should be about Clinton as well. I hope Trump humiliates himself in the debates. Loses almost every states. And then Clinton at some point gets taken down by an actual scandal that sticks.

Perhaps then things can start over and this country can pick its' self back up.

 

Perry forgot the disastrous No Child Left Behind big-government anti-10th Amendment initiative by fellow Texan G. W. Bush. That kicked in in 2001. Poor schools in poor neighborhoods were punished and good schools in good neighborhoods were rewarded. How do you think that affected black communities?
