False a team without a winning record wouldn't have made the playoffs in the west back then

I could care less if you want to argue that Lowry had a better season, but Harden is clearly the better player.

You should probably look at the Sun's roster before making such a comment, as you are incorrect.

Nash was a better facilitator, but the advance stats still favor Harden that season.

nash with the suns had way better teams than what harden has had here in houston, dwight is washed up and was washed up when he couldnt even play back 2 backs

i named a bench player for that suns team that is better than our current starting pg lol.. oh but nash did it all huh

he had marion, amare, raja, diaw, and others

hardens second best player was a castoff proclaimed bust from china

Other than Dwight Howard, there are a lot of players in that Phoenix 05-06 squad that I would take over the Houston squad in the 2015-2016 roster.

Lol I would take Sun's-Amare over 2016-Dwight for this team.

Amare was younger, more explosive, could actually hit a little 12 foot jumper and actually wanted to play pick and roll and run the floor.

Dwight would still be a better defender and rebounder but not by too much, Amare wasn't a bad rebounder or defender either thanks to his athletic ability and would probably give more effort than Dwight on some nights.

We should trade harden for Lowry so we can win a free championship next year

    Like who?

The way I see it, Dwight is on par with Marion. You may balk at that, but I think Dwight is still an elite defender & finisher who let chemistry issues and ego derail his season.

Diaw was better than Beasley, but his production was inflated by playing with Nash. His best seasons came in Phoenix, and he left when he was 26. Players typically don't peak by the time they turn 26.

Ariza is better than Raja Bell. They're both 3/D guys, but Ariza is 3 inches taller and capable of guarding more positions. Neither of them can create their own shot.

Beverley is much better than Barbosa. Beverley is the far superior defender and ball-handler.

Nope. They also had Amare who averaged 20 ppg. It was a team with a better supporting cast, get over it.

It's pretty sad since that info is readily available.

I assumed you were talking about the 2006-2007 season. Either way you are wrong in your assessment.

I didn't balk at that, hence the reason why I specifically said "other than Dwight". Although he was vital on defense, Dwight doesn't play to Harden's strength on offense. He has reluctance to play PnR and the coaching staff stubbornly feeding the ball to him just to keep him happy was detrimental to the team's offense.

Remember Nash's noticeable drop off after he was traded to the Lakers? Remember Nash's comments on Dwight as well?

Don't get me wrong, Dwight was great for us, but Harden is one of the deadliest PnR player in this league (just like Nash was), and the Rockets moved away from that in favor of more Dwight post-ups.

Diaw is definitely better than Beasley, but it would be unfair to say his stats were inflated with Nash. Whilst there is no doubt he benefited, on a per 36 minute basis Diaw's stats were largely the same after he left Phoenix.

Ariza and Raja Bell are similar, but Bell was a far superior shooter than Ariza was. It also helps that Raja Bell was in his prime when he joined Phoenix.

However, you are completely wrong to say Beverley is much better than Barbosa. First, they are not really comparable in the first place because Barbosa was a 6th man and filled a role similar to Beasley. Barbosa won a 6th man of the year award for a reason. He was a very reliable scorer in Phoenix up until his injury in 2009, and he was not the same since having trouble staying healthy. He had a much higher USG% rate than Beverley and was in charge of far more offensive duties than Beverley was. Barbosa was a solid 13/3/3 off the bench in that season on good efficiency.

Regardless, we will only know how good Harden truly is next season, because he will be in a system that will enhance his strengths under a coach that knows how to maximize his skillset.

Well you are just contradicting yourself now.

Are you talking about the 2005-2006 season when Amare was injured or the 2006-2007 season when he was not?

Don't forget how untouchable that Suns team could've been if their owner wasn't a cheap hack. Selling the 9th pick of the draft for cash... Not resigning Joe Johnson when he's hitting his prime as a RESTRICTED free agent... Selling more first round picks for cash and trade exceptions.
