Weird. They signed him like 45 days ago: http://www.baseballamerica.com/inte...ez-signing-period-closes/#Yy24zP3tWGOj0lSS.97 $2 million dollar bonus baby from Cuba (who cost the Dodgers $4 million in taxes). 6-5, 220 pound 18 year old who plays 1B/LF.
Great return for Fields. Jankowski, Hoyt, Gustave, McCurry, plus more all equal to Fields, good move for Luhnow.
Wow, shrewd move by Luhnow. Astros were definitely sellers this trade season. They traded guys who were taking up space and had lost favor with the coaching staff. Feldman had a good ERA, but a reliever isn't worth the type of money he was making. Josh Field had his chances, but never capitalized on it fully. I had hopes he'd of become the closer, but it just never happened.
I'd guess Hoyt gets a roster slot come September. Teoscar Hernandez probably also deserves a slot with his current mashing.
The top guys who come to mind are: Teoscar Hernandez James Hoyt Brady Rodgers Reymin Guduan Tyler Heineman Jordan Jankowski Jon Kemmer
