Does anyone have an idea what the timeline is here and what we're waiting for? It sounds like some think DMo is trying to "hold out" for more or maybe the Rockets are working on a S&T. Maybe they are waiting for an injured player to practice a bit and ensure he is healthy before trading DMo for him?

Let's get something done this week!

That will never happen. Some posters have to feel relevant and important. They wants to be apart of the Insiders Crew.

As far as Dmo if Cod is right, he needs to jump on that deal ASAP. In my opinion that's still too much.

That would be an awesome deal for the Rockets if they can pull it off. Potentially 2 years at only 8 mill a year would be a steal. On top of that, if he doesn't, having the 2nd year non-guaranteed makes it a no risk deal too.

The original hold-up was always to use our capspace before signing DMo. Onuaku didn't sign until a few days after Summer League, so either we or his agent (or both) chose to wait until after that -- he signed was July 20th.

fwiw: By then, Lithuania's deadline for DMo to join the national team had expired by a week.

The only other timeline is the expiration of Qualifying Offers on Oct 1st. Offer Sheets can still be signed after that, though.

It's not common, but does happen where RFAs will not sign until late September, as teams get in their last offers versus QO deadline. Happened to Landry and Bledsoe.

This might all be about number of years.

Did he confirm he would take part in the Olympics?

    Not everyone is going there.

It is possible that there is a DMo sign-and-trade scenario already agreed upon that involves some other team's signed 2016 draft pick. There's a 30-day waiting period before you're allowed to trade a signed draft pick. Depending on the team, that could be as early as this Friday (Aug 5th) and could drag into end of August or early September.

^ This occurred to me, too.

The Rockets' roster is not always set so early. Barkley was a late trade. Harden was a late trade. Etcetera.

Or, per Morey's MO, he told DMO what he's wants to offer him and told DMo to go try and beat his offer in the open market.

The hold up is Dmo and his agent are working the market for a better deal, while at the same time, working Morey to adjust the original offer.

Lithuania will not have Donatas Motiejunas at the Olympics, the country's basketball federation has announced.

In an interview with 15min.lt, the 25-year-old power forward said: "The federation told me to give a final answer. But at this moment, there is only one answer. I don't have a contract and it is unclear where I will play next season. The Olympic Games have always been my dream but at this moment, I can't play with my national team."

At this point in the Summer there is no urgency for either side (especially the Rockets) to budge and wouldn't be shocked to see DMo's camp wait until training camp to see if opportunities open up with other teams(injuries with other teams early in camp/summer workouts can open up need for a big).

With DMo, he could be weighing several options but likely the key factor will be a team with real opportunity for a key role. Hard to tell who has that opportunity at this point.

So I wouldn't sit and wait on the edge of your seat or anything.

Makes sense considering what injury prone Ezeli got from Portland. Precedent there.

If that is the offer, and it fits with the Rockets way of treating employees and doing business, then he should just sign the one year QO and become an UFA next year.

Or find a better one and sign that, make them match. There's always that.

technically, Codman did not say that offer is from the Rockets. Could be the best one from other teams.

Good point. But if he was offered that by the Rockets organization, that would be the biggest slap in the face. Id rather go back to Europe and play the year out than play for Les/Morey again.

He is a mediocre player who has been ravaged by injury.

Why can't the Super Role Player find a better offer from another team?
