Equivalent of Fisher and Paulino. I definitely would have traded that for 1.5 seasons of Lucroy.

Max Kellerman level hot taek: Maybe Stearns hates the Astros. Give us Gomez and doesn't take the Rangers out behind the boatshed for Lucroy.

Terrible day seeing the Rangers get better, and us get nothing. Knew this was going to be the case.

I trust Luhnow, period. This organization is going to be good for a long time to come. Not too worried about standing pat.

No. Brinson was just rated the 21st best prospect in baseball and Ortiz #63. Paulino was #84 and Fisher #99.

Brinson is a class above Fisher or Paulino as a prospect.... a lot of people believe he is a top 25 prospect in all of baseball.

Luis Ortiz is also a well thought of prospect.

I think I'm more puzzled how the Rangers got a controllable closer and star catcher for just two prospects not major league ready. Does Daniels have pictures on everyone?

Were we on his no trade list?

If we were and the Rangers were not, they might have taken a lesser deal because they knew he couldn't turn it down?

Ok, maybe more like Reed and Paulino. I still probably would have done that.

    Meh I wouldn't say that.

The Rangers gave up 3 of their top 5-6 prospects and the kid they gave up in the lower minors in the Beltran deal is promising. The Rangers are going for it, but they paid the going price.

Couldn't be happier that we didn't waste our prospects on short-term success. We are close, but we need a little bit more consistency from the players we have. The Rangers have a relatively short window before players like Beltre, Lewis, Fielder, and Andrus retire, move on, or become washed up. That's not even discussing the number of injuries in their starting pitching.

No, not on his no-trade list
