#Rays still discussing their starting pitchers with multiple teams. Could see a trade in next 35 minutes. @MLB @MLBNetwork

I'm hopeful for the stros / Archer (or Moore), but feels like Moore to the Giants is most likely..

Sources confirm the Astros have taken calls from teams and are also calling teams.

Sources also confirm they may or may not make a deal.

I know he's just reporting what he heard, but does this tweet add ANYTHING to the conversation?? Everybody knows that the Astros and Rays have talked.....just like everybody knows the Indians, Red Sox, Rangers, Yankees, and probably any other team with a pulse have all talked to the Rays. I just hate it when reporters try to pass off vague information as if they're insiders.

If they don't trade anyone from the current 25 man roster I don't care who else they trade if they get Archer, I will be happy.

It is usually bad but the info has been terrible today on the Astros front. I guess our front offices really are tight lipped. I guess they are providing some info but it is almost not even worth a tweet. Anyways, keep the tweets coming! Maybe we will actually get some news.

The point is that if you have internal options that could provide help, it's ok to add more prospects which then gives you greater flexibility to make moves in the offseason. Otherwise, they are risking two players taking a QO in the offseason.

Astros are a young team, no need to over react. It's not like they are trying to strike while the iron is hot. The veterans on the team are generally young.

This team was built with the intention of being patient. We fans who've been on board since the tear down to rebuild went not effect, knew it! Most of us had them starting to be ultra good by 2017-2018. We got quite a treat last season though.

Hence no need to go all in this year trading the top prospects for aging veterans. This should be a character building year, after all too much youth on the team to guarantee you will strike lightning.

Correa, Springer, Altuve, Bregman, Reed, should all start to grow as a unit and should all be prioritized with at bats.

Finally, and why is it wrong to see what your home grown talent has to offer? Too many times after prospects fail, fans lambast the GM for not trading them while they had value. I like playing the talent, with the understanding more will fail than sucess, but when they make it, it infuses financial flexibility for years to come.

How is this selling? He was an extra long-reliever and someone who could net us some prospects. It might indicate another trade is about to drop.

    whoever they get, great trade

Sell an impending free agent for prospects + have Hoyt ready to go in the bullpen (I can only assume, barring a trade for a lefty)
