What happened at Reef? I'm a once a week guy there for my redfish on the half shell. Never once have I not enjoyed my dinner.
As a former resident of Missouri City, El Vaquero was just somewhere to go to get really cheap, really mediocre Mexican food. I might be in the minority here, but I would compare it to a place like La Casita in Friendswood. Speaking of Friendswood, there's so much garbage Mexican food there: Luna's and Rancho top the list followed closely by Moreno's and Mr. Sombrero on an off day when the food is not fresh. But, La Escondida in Missouri City and now Friendswood is one of my favorites for a suburban Mexican dinner.
Pappa's BBQ. Disgusting the two times I've been. Only went the second time because I thought the first time had to be a fluke. It's a runng joke now any time we're deciding where to go to dinner. Pappasito's too. That toxic rice will raise your blood pressure fifty points.
Aren't those all buffets? I don't think I've eaten at any of them. I'm sure you're gonna be more picky than most on here. Aga's is pretty good.. Known for grilled chops (goat). Mai Colachi is pretty popular and has decent ambiance.
They actually call Chilis "Chilis Texas Grill" in Calgary. So insulting. I managed to live there five years without visiting that dump once. Of course, 99% of the restaurants in Calgary suck. I'm in the camp that anything Tilman Fertitta touches turns to ****. He has the anti-midas touch.
Only Indias on that list is a buffet. I enjoy and can appreciate fusion when done correctly. But Pondicherri, Kirans and Indika just have horrible food. Aga's is pretty good. Biryani Pot is good. Bismillah can be good most of the time.
The fish I had was definitely not fresh. Maybe it was the company I was with lol. I've only been once, so maybe I need to try again. Going to Peska tomorrow...hoping its pretty damn good. For seafood, State of Grace is pretty damn good.
I'll give you Pappas BBQ. They have great fries if you want a decent burger (double patty). I'll have to disagree with 'Citos they have the best fajitas in the city.
Pappas BBQ actually has pretty good breakfast tacos. As for the rest of their menu, the fries are great but the rest is mediocre at best. I don't mind Chili's on a rare occasion. I don't want to cook and I don't feel like spending a ton to feed the kids. Plus, as horrifyingly unhealthy as the chicken crisper meal is, I like it. I personally think they're miles ahead of the complete s*** that is Applebee's. I refuse to eat there and would prefer starvation. Since the breweries were brought up, Karbach and Brash definitely are the 2 best around right now. Southern Star and B-52 in Conroe are doing some good things, too. I still like a Lawnmower or Summer Pils when it's hot out...but I prefer Staycation now as my go to.
No lol. Not even close. El Tiempo kicks their ass and pulls it out. The original ninfas and Lupe Tortilla also own the Fertitta junk. The only thing I like there is the grilled Quail, but I only visit there with out of town business associates. For Quail I'd still rate my friends restaurant Rainbow Lodge.
Horse****!! Their beef fajitas are better than El Tiempo's decent offering. Come on Longhorn fan.... I expected better from you.
El Tiempo fajitas kick ass! Chicken or beef, especially their filet fajitas. Add the shrimp and hot dammmnnn!!!!
I like El Tiempo despite the long wait times often 2 hours. I can have 3 of their margaritas during the wait time and everything tastes good afterwards.
Just so you know, Pappa's BBQ (their worst restaurant in their portfolio) is just Luther's re-branded.
