Trump in his own words: <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Donald Trump to Army Gold Star father Khizr Khan: “I've made a lot of sacrifices" <a href="https://t.co/ZOHLGCaOyC">https://t.co/ZOHLGCaOyC</a><a href="https://t.co/Myp4oyHyX4">https://t.co/Myp4oyHyX4</a></p>— This Week (@ThisWeekABC) <a href="https://twitter.com/ThisWeekABC/status/759433280668049409">July 30, 2016</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Way too easy. At least you know better than to deny. Deflection is a better strategy, but even here it fails. See their records of public service. Compare that to Trumps record of public service. Both sacrificed money and opportunity in the private sector to serve their communities. Yeah, they ultimately made money. But the service is there. Where is Trump's public service? Or did his bone spurs mean he was limited to slapping his name on real estate projects? In fact, Trump has a public record of the opposite of public service. He is a wealthy predator leaching on our society. Country over party. Stop letting this ass make a mockery of conservatism. But again, it is Trump questioning other's loyalty and service to our country. So he is the one who should answer that call. Hillary and Obama produced feature films of their sacrifice. How about Trump? Maybe he can ask Russia to produce it for him?
Nothing as remotely close as being killed in service to your country but I would say opting into the public sector with their Ivy league education rather than making bank in the private sector in a nice cushy private law firm is more sacrifice than anything Trump has done in his life.
One of the reasons why Trump is looked down upon and laughed at by other NYC rich folks is that he donates a rather tiny portion of his $ to public-minded and charitable causes. He also has a habit of not delivering on promised donations. Mike Bloomberg, for example, has likely given away more money than Trump has made. Even the Clintons gave away $15M over 8 years, 10.8% of their total income.
Trump thinks paying his employees is a sacrifice... That is the paradigm that Drumpf lives in. Did anyone notice the choice in adjectives to describe the priest compared to the father. With the father he was like "He seems like a nice guy" and with the priest he was far more confident - "BELOVED catholic priest".
So they took the path of any politician and made millions of dollars from it. Those aren't sacrifices, those are life choices.
You are a very naive individual primarily because you haven't experienced higher education and don't understand the concept of 'safe choices'. An Ivy league law graduate has a much safer guaranteed choice in making massive bank if he or she sticks to the private sector with private law firms. That is a more sure footed way of breaking the 7 figure mark than playing Russian roulette and entering the public sector hoping one day you might become president.
Related. http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2016/03/islam-strengthens-muslim-patriotism/473838/ Olivier Roy, an expert in Islam also made the point that less religious Muslim are more prone to radicalization.
You absolute dumb ****- this is all brought on by your own dumbass candidate. If he wouldn't have said anything as stupid as his plan to ban a religion- which goes against the Constitution, BTW- this man wouldn't have even been up on that stage. Your guy constantly puts his foot in his mouth, then tries to deflect rather than coming clean and admitting he's wrong. It's like he needs a PR angel hovering over his head 24x7 to tell him what to say. Correct Response: First, I'd like to commend his son for his service to our country. And let me say that he has the right to say what he wants, and I am sorry for his loss. When I first said, "Ban all Muslims" I was very frustrated about.... and so that was the wrong thing to say. We have to respect religious freedom. I am just very worried about national security... I mean, you can reword that 100 different ways, but the point is the same- your guy, and your guy alone, makes problems for himself. It's not the media's fault at all- if you answer logically, responsibly, and with compassion, especially for something like this, I'd bet a million bucks there would be no backlash. Like the Radiohead song goes (forget the name): "You do it to yourself... you and no one else.... you do it to yourself..."
Hilary and Obama have not made the same sacrifice as that Muslim's father made so they did not dare to question his and other muslims' patriotism. Unlike Trump. ... The more you defend Trump, the more it shows your own character.
