let them score 10 more runs now see if they suffer from astroistis the following 2 games and go hitless. analytics.
Really? Our pitching has been one of the main reasons this team is even in contention. Now we know how KC fans felt those first two games last month.
Their pitcher is not impressive at all either but letting Mchugh stay in so long may have put this game out of reach.
I do not think we have a 3 guys knocking the cover off the ball hitting is way better than our pitching.
If you can't evaluate the look on someone's face, you have no business managing in the majors. jsingles, professional pitching-face-evaluator for runs-giving-up-mode, amirite? Did Devenski's face give you the HR feel, or was that not in your skill set? Maybe if you figure that one out, you'll have Hinch's job
Maybe take him out at 5-2 instead of 6-2? Not really going to make a huge difference... Devenski (or anybody for that matter) can't be giving up 3 run HR's to the 7 hitter hitting .191.
It was a killer that Devenski gave up the 3 run homer but I still think McHugh stayed in there too long. After the pitch where Cabrera was able to move into scoring position would have been the time I took him out. By the time Devenski came on it was two batters already on.
I know you guys like to fap to recency bias but I would feel so much more confidently in this lineup if there was a better hitter in the 2 spot than Marwin. It just doesn't make any sense.
