Human are full of emotion and appealing to it makes a lot of sense. And there isn't necessary anything wrong with that. But when all of you have is not only appealing to emotion, but dark dark emotion... yea, that's not who we are. If you hate America or American, vote for Trump. If you dislike America or American, consider Trump.
Just had a Trump supporter explain to me that Michelle Obama's speech was crazy offensive because she had to bring up slavery to try to make white people feel bad.
yes. That's why she did it. Luckily Trump supporters don't look for things to whine about like so many affirmative action supporters.
In her speech it was to show how far it is possible to have come since slavery. She pointed out that she was living in a house built by slaves and that now her family occupies the house and her kids are out playing in the front yard. The whole point was about progress. What's the point of crying and moaning anytime slavery is brought up?
I'm convinced now that I have been naive about racism. I knew it still existed but thought it was much less than it truly is. This is the same person who told me that he likes Donald Trump because he's tired of PC crap like being told he can't say the n word if he wants to. Of course, he blames Obama for "making the racial divide worse" although he can't actually cite something he did other than "not reaching out, trying to bring white and blacks together"
[Premium Post] That is merely one of several reasons why she brought it up: 1. Guilting white voters into an emotional response / future benefit 2. Rallying black voters behind her 3. Credentialize herself as a superior moral being, thereby giving her broad latitute to provide condescending lectures on a variety of topics 4. Attention grabbing stunt GOOD DAY
I guess what made it offensive is her hubby, the Great Divider, sets back progress every time he publicly lends support to those who try to make criminals like Michael Brown a martyr for the African American community all at the expense of the Police Department.
Wow... after seven years you are still upset that an African American had the audacity to become President...
Seems like everyone that favors being Not PC just wants an excuse for being an ignorant jackass and not get reprimanded for it
Where did I say that? I'm saying he was hailed a Uniter and has done the exact opposite. He failed miserably as race relations are worse now.
When he called the police stupid for having to arrest his belligerent buddy without having the common decency to apologize he divides people. I can site others buy you will ignore that too.
When you call standing up for one's dignity belligerent and ignore that he actually reached out to bring everyone involved together it ignores the fact that what happened was the opposite of dividing.
I love the optimism that the Democrats portrayed. I feel like Hilary had been pretty aggressive in attacking Trump especially on social media. This optimism is a nice change of pace.
Since you seem to believe people ignore your opinions (admittedly, I often do), perhaps this editorial will help you understand how and why many disagree with your belief: http://www.nytimes.com/2016/07/13/opinion/has-barack-obama-hurt-race-relations.html
He's the leader of the government. He had no business involving himself in that incident and then publicly demean a government employee especially without knowing all the facts. The cops weren't wrong and he should have kept his mouth shut. From a personal standpoint, when he used the Special Olympics as an instrument to make fun of himself, I thought that was really low.
As opposed to this, which apparently you have no issue: http://www.cnn.com/videos/tv/2015/11/26/donald-trump-mocks-reporter-with-disability-berman-sot-ac.cnn
