What about his fielding? Isn't there a team out there who could use an upgrade at 3B?

With this lineup... Bregman or Gurriel is the DH.

Gattis needs to only hit when he is catching. If you want a "beast" lineup, you gotta include Marwin in there and break up that Gattis-Rasmus-Gomez stench.

The issue with Marwin is that the positions he plays (1B-3B-LF) are the exact positions expected to be supplanted by Bregman/Gurriel.

Sure, he could be the DH... but that would involve benching one of Rasmus/Gomez (with whoever is playing being the CF).

Starting to think a platoon of Rasmus/Gomez in CF is the way to go unless one gets hot. Bregman in LF with occasional starts by Tucker especially once Gurriel is entrenched. Then DH platoon of Tucker/Marwin or Bregman or Gurriel. I have faith that Tucker will be a solid contributor down the stretch and a solid DH option for us finally. Although he pops more balls hundreds of feet in the air than I have ever seen.

That would be annoying putting Rasmus and Gomez's bat out there with Marwin sitting on the bench.

August 15th, Cardinals series is a feasible point per Luhnow at which Gurriel could make his debut.

They are hopeful to get the VISA done this week.

Not trying to fix what ain't broke but if Gurrieal has time in the minors he should be working on 1st base. Let's Bregman settle at 3rd without upsetting the apple cart too much.

They may have promised him 3B when they signed him. If so, I doubt they would want to change their mind and possibly upset him when they're still hoping to sign his brother, as well.

I'm hoping and assuming that the mid-August timetable is taking into account how long it takes to get a work visa?? As of yesterday, he still had not received it.

Just trying to come up with a way to get the best 4 infield talents on the field. Correa, Altuve, Gourrieal, Bregman. It's a good problem to have but it's one that needs an answer.

Valbuena is a backup, likely. Not sure what the point of bringing Bregman and Gourrieal to the party would be if not.

I hate to say it, it sounds stupid and it's fixing what isn't broke...but Altuve is a 2nd base only...if Gourrieal is promised 3B then Correa would be the option to move to 1st. Being an all-world SS, that sounds ridiculous but Bregman is obviously gifted defensively, just don't think he's a typical 1st base sized person whereas Correa definitely is. Like I said, good problem.

Correa at 1st? You've now officially lost everybody.

Gurriel will play 3B/DH, Bregman will play LF/3B/DH, Valbuena will play 3B/1B.

Everybody else stays where they are. This isn't that hard.

He is at the Astros complex in Florida working out. He just cannot play actual games (thus getting paid) until he gets his visa. Not a big problem.

Why would you move Correa to 1st when Castro is already there? Altuve could be a hell of a center fielder. Tyler White at SS. You're right, this isn't that hard.
