I doubt she will. Her very best speeches are just above average. Her average speech is tolerable and so when she's below that, she's boring.

The only thing is that her best speeches since the campaign started have been when she's attacking Trump. So maybe that will help her. It will certainly fire the crowd up, and perhaps she can feed off that energy.

Wonder how he will live the next four years if Hillary wins.

That was far more Obama's farewell speech than it was support for Hillary Clinton.

I'm not expecting much out of her speech. I expect it to be a litany of policy proscriptions sprinkled with attacks on Trump. I'm sure she will try to have some poetry but I just don't think she has it in her to preach like Obama or her husband.

Hilary won't match Obama but will easily outclass Donald Trump's speech. Trump is a horrible orator and sounds/speaks like a 5th grader.

I agree, but I don't think that's a bad thing. Bill's speech was tremendous in supporting Hillary, while Obama's seemed to serve more to unite the Democratic party (and the nation) against Trump.

I'm gonna really miss Obama. A lot of nostalgia in that speech. Good times in 2008.

Convention is not even over yet but Ms. Clinton is trending back up in the polls. It probably won't get fully baked in till next week.

Trump better hope Russia heard his hacking/espionage pleas, he's going to need some more help.

Meanwhile, after speeches tonight culminating in the Obama obliteration, here is the state of the GOP ...

Comparing the speakers, the audience and what was said on the podium at DNC versus the RNC points out why the GOP is in longterm danger.

The GOP message was one relentlessly of fear and anger much of it targeted at foreign threats to point that a refrain was to build a wall. Tonight on the DNC stage was a VP nominee who although a white man gave part of his speech in Spanish. The highlight of the night was a black president embracing a woman nominated to run for president. Everyone of the speakers were reaching out to a wide diversity of groups and welcoming to new groups.

Unless the GOP radically changes it is going to be overwhelmed simply by demographics.

Interesting piece here: a Republican strategist explaining how the GOP is doomed due to its chronic dependence on white supremacists. http://www.vox.com/2016/7/25/12256510/republican-party-trump-avik-roy

Alright, alright. I am on board the Hillary train*. It's awfully hard for me to argue with Bubba and Barry. I really do love those guys.

*unless Trump is 5-Star hilarious in every debate, in which case I just might have to say eff it, let's see what happens. If he really is Hitler 2.0, at least we'll get around 9 years of kick ass euphoria before the bottom drops out.
