So are we just going to continue this conversation presuming that the security breach and leak were done by state actors in Russia? I'd want some evidence of that shared with the public before I trust Hillary Clinton's staff's assurances on the subject, especially considering said staff's willful ignorance of basic security protocols for an email server.

Most of the world's malware and p*rn ads on the Internet come from Russia too -- that doesn't mean the Russian government is responsible for them.

Goofball, it's not coming from the DNC. Look on FoxNews.

I wouldn't trust Fox News to get a technology story right. Why would you?

I'd also find it hard to believe the FSB would be that sloppy, or would trust Julian Assange with keeping a secret. Blaming a state actor for something like this is a serious allegation and blaming a convenient boogieman scapegoat without sufficient evidence is not something anyone should take seriously without evidence presented to the public. It certainly looks like political expediency to me, especially considering Putin's Russian "problem."

When Sony was hacked -- the FBI had proof when they named the DRPK as responsible. Should the FBI claim after an investigation that this was the FSB, I'm not going to have a problem with that. Quoting the security experts hired by the DNC is a weak argument from authority to defend the "Obviously Putin" claim: "Experts are saying" is not proof. Evidence is proof.

I've watched the video. Assange never stated the emails were timed to coincide with the DNC. He DID say the emails were being released as soon as they could be processed. I kinda believe him having looked at the archive dump and doing searches of my own. Its A LOT of stuff to go through and context is difficult to ascertain on many of these emails. Unless Wikileaks has a lot of resources that understand American politics, it explains the time taken to release. I think it was timed to maximize exposure to the emails themselves and to get the media to do the work for them.

Also, Assange... in the video... never stated he hoped to harm Clinton, but did state he thinks Clinton's actions are a threat to free speech. Infer what you will.

Its obvious the NYT went too far in their reporting here and should retract or correct the word "Harm".

Having said that, I honestly think Assange wanted to hurt Clinton and that is the reason for the leak. I also find Dandortik's story posted in the link below to be interesting.

Governments are usually not at the forefront of tech innovation -- they tend to be slow to adopt to new ideas. The Obama administration IMHO has been better than previous administrations about taking IT and internet security seriously, and better than most governments. We can't all be Estonia or Singapore. I can remember in the mid-90s during my peak C-Span addiction at being really frustrated at listening to Newt Gingrich praising Microsoft as the great American innovator with no mention of the Internet.

Just because someone tweets something doesn't mean it's true.

Anyhow...have you realized yet that you wouldn't be an American under Trump's policies and that he doesn't want your parents here?

Bodine, you were responding to a question that I posed that went beyond this week's hack. That's why I asked you not to pigeon hole a very large body of work that has proven that Hillary is a certified liar while holding a government position.

    Learn how to read

"Russia, if you're listening, I hope you're able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing. I think you will probably be rewarded mightily by our press," Trump said during a news conference in Florida

Hillary said the e-mails were deleted and wiped from the servers. How are they going to be hacked?

Shame on Russia for all this meddling.

I'm just proud that I live in the USA where the Gov't doesn't do any spying, or hacking, or gathering of information, or meddle in other nations elections. So very very proud.

Because, this thread is about the DNC hack.

What crimes did Hillary commit, or anyone commit, with respect to this week's hack?

As far as I can tell the only crime was committed by Russian hackers.

Please note, your nominee, Trump, just held a presser where he said he hopes Russia hacks us national security infrastructure again

You can't make this up. That might actually be a crime

So you know their political opinions, but you say you don't know what religion they practice. The self-loathing is strong with RocketsLegend.

Can't admit I punked you, huh? There's now way that you can hack e-mails off a wiped server. The FBI couldn't recover them but Russia is going to..... Ok.....

Just shut up and go try your act on someone who isn't going to embarrass you.

I'm not even defending or attacking the Obama administration's position on tech security, just pointing out that the Eric Trump either lied or was ignorant when he said this is the first time Obama mentioned it and that this RocketsLegend guy is a propaganda guzzler for repeating it. The Obama admin has been making a big deal out of tech security for 7 years lol

Look at how pathetic Sam has gotten. "What crime has been committed?" Is that the new standard?

Sam, do you believe Bernie was given a 100% fair shake by the DNC? The revelations arising from the DNC email leaks sure has upset the Bernie supporters!
