It's Watt, with Altuve not far behind. Then Harden, then Hopkins.

An NBA superstar is more valuable than any defensive player. Harden makes way more than jj.

    Booker T below Wade Barrett?

Tell me you did not just say that!

best pro athlete then I would have to go with Harden. Harden lead the Rockets to the playoffs. Watt does a lot for the Texans but not enough to be named best pro athlete in houston. If anyone currently put Houston on the map then I would have to go with Watt and his bandwagoners. People that don't watch football knows who JJ is.

That wasn't the question. Watt is already an all-time-great HOF player, Harden and Altuve are great players.

    Watt for sure.

The gulf isn't quite as large as used to be. Altuve is coming for him. And it's impossible to imagine the kind of monster Carlos Correa could be if he remains on his current trajectory. He's about 3 years from hitting his athletic "prime."

I'm not going to leave out James Harden. 26 and averaged 29 ppg / 7.5 apg / 6.1 rpg. It wouldn't be insane if he was an MVP candidate by the end of next season. I wouldn't bet on it, but those numbers...

    But JJ's #1...

Easily JJ Watt. If he can match half of his production from the last few seasons going forward, he'll go down as one of if not the best defensive lineman of all time.

Carlos Correa in 3 years will be the best athlete in Houston by a wide margin.

Dude doesn't even know about Wrestling apparently.

Also if you're going to bring up Wrestling then you also have Undertaker who is also from Houston so there.

Tuve. He's hitting .360 and OPS is 1.003. JJ Watt can't even swing a bat right now.

Tuve is gonna get the walk off tonight against the Yanks.

I'm a much bigger basketball fan than football fan and also not from or live in houston, but I also overwhelmingly would pick JJ WATT.

Anyways since I always hear that Texas is a much bigger football state (been to Austin/dallas) does this poll also reflect approximately that sentiment?

    67% for JJ WATT (Football)
    16% for Harden (Basketball)
    15% for Altuve/Correa (Baseball)

In northern california, our sports culture is probably only slightly favoring the Niners then Giants then Warriors (all else being equal ie... success & date.)

JJ WATT and not even close. He is a Hall of Famer right now and is half way to being the greatest defensive player in NFL history. He is a once in a generation type player.

    No love for Deandre Hopkins?

With a contract year and potentially better QB, Hopkins is gonna be a beast this year!

I'll put it this way..in Texas, we'll have 40,000 easily at the 5A & 6A State High School Championship football game

15,000-20,000 easily at regular playoff games and 10,000-12,000 easily at many regular season games in class 5A & 6A
