They both have the 4th OF floor featuring elite D and baserunning. Theyre different in that Marisnick has more power potential but will never walk as much as Aplin.
If I'm remembering right Colorado Springs and San Antonio have the same ownership group.....and I think the Amarillo one is the same as well.
He doesn't have to be a savior though. Something like .275/.340/.450 I would be happy with.Anything above that I would be ecstatic. Still hard to predict but his bat and makeup seem too far along to expect much less than that. Pretty high expectations but I think they are realistic. Here's to hoping Bregman can contribute immediately ala Correa.

FIFY. It looks like the Rangers will honor their Round Round Express contract. Te Astros will have to wait until the 2019 season to move their AAA team to Austin.
The good news, the Express will stay at Dell Diamond, and become the Astros affiliate. The bad news is the Rangers most likely end up with an affiliate in San Antonio.
Dammit, 2 more years, fml. Was really hoping they would find a way to make this happen after this season.
Franklin Perez threw four shutout innings today for QC allowing one hit and striking out four. Now sporting a nice looking 2.90 ERA with 54 strikeouts in 49.2 innings. Oh yeah, he is 18 years old.
Tommy Shirley released. Very disappointing year for him, hope he can catch on somewhere and he is left-handed after all.
Garrett Stubbs continues to be one of my favorite prospects. Has continued his success in AA batting .333 thru 11 games and is an OBP machine. I noticed he's batted leadoff a few times which makes me think of Jason Kendall/John Jaso. High hopes but he seems to have a good approach. If we can't resign Castro I feel good about pairing Heineman/Stubbs with Gattis.
Left-handed Jason Kendall is a good comp for Garrett Stubbs, although Stubbs is smaller than Kendall; like Kendall, Stubbs walks as much or more than he strikes out and can steal a base. That'd be a tremendous outcome for Stubbs given the lack of elite catching prospects in the system.
