Dallas looked as sharp as can be minus a few hanging curves. People complain that we can't go deeper into ball games, yet complain when we do actually leave our pitcher in when he's dealing.

Hinch did nothing wrong. Stop putting all the dang blame on him and just say Dallas didn't make a good pitch.

So, you were not only against McCullers going for the complete game, you wanted him out after 7? (Depriving him of his most electric inning of the game).

i'm against applying standard rules that apply to every single game no matter what. 2-0 lead, 7 innings, 1 hit, 0 ER, 85 pitches...you still pull McCullers? I wouldn't.

And in this game, keuchel was dealing.

Can someone please explain why Keuchel seems to lose focus much more this season and grooves a lot more pitches?

The offense has got to do better than one run.

There was no reason to pull Dallas there :\ He hung a pitch, it happens. He's been great all night & pitched another really solid game. Got no help from the bats tonight, unless they make up for it in the bottom half.

There isn't a set in stone formula to whether you should leave a guy in or not. You have to look at tendencies and statistics of the individual pitchers so that you make an informed and proper decision.

Keuchel has faltered 3rd time through the order all damn season.

No he hasn't... And the poster I responded to seemed to implie it was a hard-fast rule.

I would understand all of your arguments if it was the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th time it has happened.

This happens every single time, though. They might be up 5-1 or tied 1-1, but every time there is any sort of doubt about sending Keuchel out there another inning and Hinch decides to leave him in there, Keuchel gives up at least a run ALWAYS.

    It never fails.

Where was the expressed doubt about sending him out for the 8th?

    ITs hindsight bull****.

Anyone complaining about Keuchel or AJ needs to have their head examined

pitch count is definitely something that has to be factored in. keuchel was fresh and dealing. in a 1-1 game where you don't know what's going to happen or how long the game will be, it's much better to avoid wasting pitchers.

anyways, still a one run lead. we have a chance... betances has been good since the AS break and the type of pitcher than owns us, BUT he has been overused this season so definitely not over. miller scares me more at this point to be honest since he will most likely face the bottom of our order.

it could honestly come down to bregman in a big time spot

It wasn't pitching and it wasn't fielding. After our first at bat, our bats have been sleeping.

But why? I would understand if it was a player with a weak arm.

I'm sure they had a good reason but wth
