i think the blame is more on Watt...the organization can't really do much about how he spends his offseason...with a star like him, you can't really put restrictions on him like that, but i imagine they tried in some way.

He was already in pretty damn good shape before...then it seemed like the last two off seasons he was talking about stepping it up..it was like he was trying to get better when it was really not necessary..he was already destroying opponents. I understand wanting to improve..but if you're already at the top, then there's no shame in accepting you've maxed out..he could've just maintained his training and still been the best.

I don't know that training is the problem. He was one of only two DLinemen to play over 1,000 snaps and then they threw him in on offense too

    Here's an article on it

    I can go on.

I mean using watt as an RB in the playoffs? With wilfork as the lead blocker?

    Wow

On the plus side - everyone knows Belichick would have completely taken Watt out of the NE game anyway. Maybe this makes him have to think a little more, especially with Clowney probably hurt as well.

Training.. Not taking plays off.. Playing too hard in practice..thats all driven by him. When a guy is a superstar, it's hard to tell him no. Send him home early, sit him earlier, etc and guess what he'll just do? Go to the gym and put in extra work.

Yeah but with training he isn't getting pounded on.

Doesn't mean he can't injure himself training... Or that too much intensity during the week won't make his muscles more vulnerable on Sunday..

That's what happens when you carry a franchise. Hope he gets well soon.

This organization has never once driven a single player into the ground by making him carry an entire side of the team.

JJ out there just trying to be the best teammate he can be.

I thought the exact thing about rolling the giant tires. Superman is a fictional character and thinking you ARE one makes you do stupid stuff like roll monster truck tires and think you can't possibly damage your back just because you are stronger than most.

Wow! You clearly know nothing about physical fitness, strength training, or anything for that matter. This has to rank in the top 5 when it comes to dumbest posts I've read in all my many years on this site.

This is your franchise player. Just let him come back game 3. No need to push him because you know he will go back even if not 100%.
