@astrostransactions: @JimBowden_ESPN writes #Astros are favorites to land either Andrew Miller or if the #Yankees are selling, Aroldis Chapman

Yeah, not sure. Sometimes I wonder if these guys just make stuff up. Who know.

Maybe we're showcasing Preston Tucker? Kind of makes sense.

Hmmm, Miller or Chapman...a dominant lefty who can close but who will cost more vs a dominant righty who is a rental and brings some baggage. Personally, I'd go Chapman and use whatever prospects you save to go get a lefty reliever and possibly a SP and/or another bat. Next year we can always revisit Giles as a closer.

    Both are lefties.

I'll be damned. I swore every time I saw a highlight he was throwing from the right side. Have to get my eyes checked.

Do the Rangers sell their souls to improve their starting pitching to try and maintain their lead? Astros would probably have to include Bregman to even sit at the table.

Rangers would have to include at least either mazara or profar and another top prospect or teo

I could see them including either of them.

Gallo, Mazara, another two blue chip prospects could get it done...

I really wish the Astros could make a deal for Sale.

Rangers would immediately be the favs in AL West when healthy.

I think it would take Mazara, Profar, Gallo, and another high end guy like Tate. I do not see the prior (3) being enough on it's own to pry Sale and his great contract. Especially with the price of pitching this season. Sale is eons better than Pomeranz, and he nabbed the #15 prospect. Part of me wants the Rangers to mortgage their future, but at the same time, we need that arm. That said, if we're paying the price for Sale, I think I'd rather pry Jose Fernandez.

With Bregman and our 25-man off the table, I think either deal would require 5-6 players of their choosing.

Daniels has no fears about losing prospects... he's let go of quite a few over the years.

He also has the mindset that you can always acquire top-flight pitching... its always available via trade. Cliff Lee, Cole Hamels, Ryan Dempster... just seems like they're going to make the deal if the season warrants it.

Boston is the other strong possibility.

Would Reed/K Tucker/Musgrove/Martes land Sale? I certainly think it's better than the Rangers reported offer

More than we'll get in return. Wanna shot for grand slams like Sale, Trout, Chapman or give the guys who are ready a shot

Apparently there was a clubhouse incident and the White Sox sent Sale home.
