Say what it is....It's flat-out stupid to call him that in this short a time. I can definitely see success for him. He might need another stint in AAA to get his s*** together, but I think he'll be just fine and likely our everyday DH next year.
Personally, I think we called him up too quick. His stats didn't show that he had fully adjusted to the level (after dominating AA) and IIRC he'd simply put together a solid few weeks combined with the astros immediate schedule being RHP happy. I think he needs a regular dose of PA's and that is most easily obtained at the AAA level. The stro's also need a top half rotation pitcher and he happens to be one of the commodities I wouldn't mind moving, but he's doing little for his value in the bigs and has a better chance of re-establishing his "best 1B prospect in MLB" status by dominating AAA. I doubt this cup of coffee hurt him and probably will give him plenty to work on. Letting Breg's get in some time at 3B now before Yuli comes up - will help to determine how to best position him thereafter. Also means you won't have to deal with the overlap of 2 bats learning MLB pitching in the final stretch of the season.
Reed is in no way a bust... BUT I don't think he showed mastery at AAA which is what Lunhow has always said he wants to see before promotion. His PA's have now provided him with tape and an idea of what he has to work on. I say send him down so he can get every day AB's. White on the other hand may be ready for another look soonish.
Reed wasn't replicating his 2015 production even in AAA prior to the call-up. You can tell he doesn't have much confidence at the plate. I think going back down to AAA will do him some good, and he's still got great potential going forward. But yeah unless he starts working on his weight this year he's gonna end up as a permaDH pretty soon.
How do they expect him to adjust to ml pitching if he's only playing every 3 games? I'll reserve my judgement until he starts multiple games in a row.

welcome back! Is it White going back down or Marwin to the DL? Hopefully the former... for the sake of the team
I think if Gomez is ready then it will be either White or Tucker. The obvious option though would be Fister paternity and then figure out what to do when he is back.
I hope it works out but I don't understand sending him down without seeing him slump down there and recovering.
none of our AA call-ups can hit for shiet... Reed, Bregman and White are all hitting under .200 in the majors, can't even keep up how many 0-for they got.
