On his worst day he didn't suck as bad as Clint is going to suck for you this fall, DD.

All these people in here talking about defense.... I guarantee the rockets will be better this year on that end than they were last year out of tee simple fact that harden and the rest of the guys are going to try extra hard on that end for at least the first half of the year.

Rockets will be fighting for a seeds 2-4 Harden is that good, he'll be at the top of the mvp conversation again and media and fans will change there tune on him since Dwight is gone.

The media/fans just can't say anything positive about Dwight and that negatively effected what was said about harden the past few years. Even 2 years ago when he was playing at an mvp level and was clearly a top 2 player in the game the media still didn't want to give him his props will they were forced to.

That's understandable after his defense dropped off AND he quit on the team.

Like always James Harden is the key to all this. If Harden can lead a group of scrubs to the 2nd seed in the West and the WCF he can certainly do it with this group. If he's committed on defense there's no reason Houston can't be a 4th or 5th seed. If he isn't committed well we know the outcome.

Just curious, outside of lebron, which nba player do you think can take this current coaching staff and scrub roster to the 4th seed of the WC?

Cool. Well Dwight had a lot of "worst days" last season. Capela for a fraction of the cost and a fraction of the ego-maintenance sounds pretty okay right now.

Why sure he sounds great right now for such a low, low price.

But right now is July 20th. When December rolls around it won't sound very good at all Sizzle. I'm just glad we got Nene and I hope he stays healthy so we've got something to go to when your boy folds like a cheap suit in a summer rainstorm.

Boy are you wrong. Clint is able to get up and get up again quickly - and he will happily play his role.

Clint right now is better than Dwight.

I guess you missed the entire 2015 season. Harden took an even worse roster and coaching staff to the 2nd seed. This roster is better than that team as well as the coaching staff.

    1) He's not "my boy". He's simply a solid option at center on a rookie contract.

    2) I'm glad we got Nene as well. I'm actually not opposed to him starting instead of Capela.

    3) What if Capela doesn't "fold like a cheap suit in a summer rainstorm"?

So you agree only harden outside of lebron can take this team of scrubs to the 4th seed next year

I think the Grizzlies are definitely top 4 in the west if healty...which is a big if at this point but well...as today, assuming all the teams are going to be healty, i'd say:

    Warriors
    Clippers/Grizzlies/Spurs
    Rockets
    Jazz
    Blazers/Mavs

When Durant was out they didn't make the playoffs by 1 game. What's going to be different this year?

IIRC, Westbrook was also out for a significant amount of time, hence why he ended up with the scoring title despite Harden scoring more overall points. No disrespect to Westbrook though--during the final stretch of the season he led in triple-doubles by a landslide.

Westbrook also missed significant time that year, iirc. And probably a better roster and coach now. I would put them ahead of the Mavs as well.

Bit of a reach there. Clint will have to have a major breakout year to surpass him.

The idea that Dwight was so good defensively is comical. Especially considering we got killed by EVERY big man who can shoot because he refused to step out.

We'll miss his rebounding... But Clint is 100 times better at switching (kind of like that Tristan Thompson guy who had ring)...
