Just Ashby being his annoying self. Spicy talk with Julia, fumbling over the play by play, etc. He really takes away from the broadcast. From time to time I switch over to out of town feed because of his annoying broadcasting.

Fiers has to be done from the starting rotation.

    Rasmus
    Reed
    Gomez

All need less playing time. Bring up Bregman and White. Send down Worth and Reed.

    LOL, so true

Numerous times Blum has been literally speechless with one of Ashby's comments. Eye rolling doesn't make a sound, but that the broadcasting equivalent of an eye roll.

The more I watch, I think Blum is pretty damn good. There have been a few broadcasts with him and Brownie, and they were really good. Ashby just brings the level down so far. he's not funny, he's awkward, and he doesn't seem knowledgeable at all. Brownie is an old school broadcaster, but you can tell he's making an effort to get in line with the modern metrics, while Ashby just goes with the get off my lawn response.

As much as I can't stand Ashby, I can't help but chuckle a little whenever he does that fake hearty chortle of his

Blum is awesome. He's only slightly behind where Deshaies was at this point in their development as an analyst/humorist.

Ashby is holding him back. Blum developed more in that 2 week stint of Ash-laryngitis than he had all of the last 2 years combined.

The Astros hold the cards when it comes to making these decisions (not ROOT)... so it really has to be up to Reid and the front office to see what we're all seeing and act on it. I'd venture they'd be more responsive if Ash gets called out on twitter more than he has been.

Ashby seems to think that being a dirty old man is ok over the air but admonished Blum last year when he called Correa the Puerto Rican Punisher after hitting a big homer.

You have to earn dirty old man status and Ashby will never be legend enough to earn that status.

The broadcasts with both ford and Blum and brown and Blum have been really enjoyable . They really should get rid of ashby

Hard to watch home run calls on replay, anticipating the "see Ya". Terrible home run call.

Anyone know what Fiers deal was last night? He sucked ass in the 4th and was being taken out. He's running his yapper at the coach and in the dugout? I mean...he was the one who was sucking...correct? Did he want to stay in the game and give up even more runs? Dude needs to shut up and sit down.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the McClain regime fire Ashby when he still owned the team? I don't know if it was an owner decision or network decision but pretty sure that happened.

Yes. He was just the radio guy though with Milo. Was an Astros decision.

He wasn't near this annoying as Milo's wingman. I guess having an HOFer beside you can cover up some inadequacies.

Plus he wasn't doing as much PBP... that is where he is the most annoying now. The constant talking as he has blurred lines between being an analyst and a PBP guy on the road.

Must win tonight. Get Keuchel going for the 2nd half, Rasmus hitting again.
