You know who drove the most insane racial division in the history of the USA?

That MF'er Abraham Lincoln. **** that guy. What a loser. Clearly a worse president than Obama on that metric. Dude got 620,000 Americans killed.

Lol Don Lemon is the same anchor who asked one of Cosby's rape victims why she didn't bite his **** off instead of blowing him.

lol yeah but there was actually a lot of good generated by freeing the slaves. Obama has only created the racial division - nothing else good!

The problem is the need to use one of the rifles isn't so random in mass shootings which is an increasingly more frequent problem and something the AR15 supporters just shrug their apathetic shoulders at. "Ain't my fault them crazy people use my hog rifle to slaughter school kids and cops". One big circle jerk till the next time it happens and Hog killing trumps people killing.

Hand guns are a menace too, you're right there.

You are way smarter than that argument man. We're talking about people who choose to take the lives of other people with an instrument designed for killing.

People do the same when they hear that over 40K people are killed every year in the US between lung cancer and heart disease related to second hand smoke.....and there's no constitutional amendment guaranteeing the right to smoke. There's certainly no need to smoke, so why do people just shrug their apathetic shoulders at the mass slaughter going on as a result of it?

I mean, that's absolutely a greater menace than assault rifles that kill maybe 200-300 people a year in the US.

Anyway, I'm sure you have your reasons why we should focus on those 200-300 people so much more than anything more important but I just can't take it seriously.

Don't stick your pinkie out quite so far while you sip your chardonnay.

Wild hogs are among the most destructive invasive species in the United States today. Two million to six million of the animals are wreaking havoc in at least 39 states and four Canadian provinces; half are in Texas, where they do some $400 million in damages annually. They tear up recreational areas, occasionally even terrorizing tourists in state and national parks, and squeeze out other wildlife.

Humans are their only real predator. Who's going to do it? You? You want me on that wall, whether you know it or not. P.S. they're delicious.

And yeah, ban handguns. I've been saying that for years.

Some cops don't need to be cops - we all get that. But this is so messed up on so many levels. Not sure you mean this but you seem to be justifying the shootings. Killing cops isn't going to cause those bad cops to go to jail. It's not even going to cause departments that protect their own to change. But if you are black, you should be even more afraid now thanks to the actions of this whack job who thought they were helping blacks. Totally the opposite of helping the problem.

We greatly restrict who can buy and use tobacco, where it can be used, put warning labels on it and heavily tax it. The tobacco industry has been sued by states and is very regulated. On top of that the CDC can and does lots of research into lung cancer and a lot of money is put into addressing lung cancer.

My point is that we more greatly restrict firearms that are less deadly and are a constitutionally guaranteed right. Smoking kills more innocent Americans every year than firearms as a whole, yet due to fear mongering propaganda, that's what gets all the attention.

    Just look at the numbers

Total smoking related deaths per year in the US - 480,000

Second hand smoking related deaths per year in the US - 42,000

Total gun related deaths per year in the US - 34,000

Total non-suicide gun related deaths per year in US - 13,000

Total gun related deaths per year in US using all forms of rifles - 300

Tell me again where our attention should be focused.

Like I said earlier, some people need them, they should be federally licensed and registered.

    Wait a sec here.

You said that cops will be more on edge around black people because a black person killed some cops.

Rocket River responded and said black people are more on edge around cops after cops kill black people.

But, somehow, Rocket River saying this is justifying the killing of cops? Since what you said is the same formula as what he said, just with the subject and object switched, does that mean what you said is justifying the killing of black people?

I didn't get that impression upon initially reading your post, but if you think RR is justifying the killing of cops, and given the parallel structure of your own statement, I can only conclude you think your own statement is justifying cops killing black people.

For the most part, the incidents where cops have killed black men have ended up being justifiable. Most incidents that people point to are in fact nothing more than legally justifiable use of force. On the contrary, the incidents where officers were murdered are not only NOT legally justifiable, they are acts of terrorism.

That said, the Minnesota case looks like it very well could end up being a case of voluntary manslaughter, and so if we're talking about that case specifically, then no, it's not justified.

Since most cases aren't on film, and all the official facts on such cases are coming from the cops themselves, for one to think that most cases of police use of force and deadly force are justified one has to trust in the word cops -- and I am not prepared to do that. Especially considering the times when they have been caught in lies. And crooked government officials are like roaches -- if you catch one, there are bound to be a lot more you didn't catch.

So, as a skeptic in this regard, I think it is impossible to know what percentage of the times cops using force and deadly force are really justified or not. And for someone to decide they are largely justified seems to require a leap of faith and/or a desire to think they are so.

Plus, I have a hard time not thinking that race probably plays a part in cops using violence on citizens, considering that it certainly plays a part in the rate at which cops stop or pull over people.

So, I don't share your faith in the police or your belief that the instances of cops killing people are largely justified.
