And, if Feldman had come in and sucked, people would be wondering why he brought in Feldman instead of Feliz.
I still would have still thought it was a logical decision because Feldman is one of the long-relief men.
Nope, what made Feldman a better option in that situation than Feliz? Explain yourself, if you're gonna ***** and second-guess tell us why.
Feliz has been just as long-relief... just that he's been getting it primarily in extra innings. With men on base, I want the guy who has more K potential... less worry about a BABIP conundrum (which basically happened), which was probably Hinch's thought process.
Graveman's fastball down from 94-96 to 92 .... He is losing some velocity and trying to mix in more cutters. Don't know we will get a shot next inning against him.
I will absolutely guarantee that if Hinch knew Feliz would walk 3 guys in a row, he would never have brought him in.
This. Long relief has nothing to do with it, you're just trying to get out of that one inning with no more damage. Feliz couldn't find the plate with a map, it happens.
If it was a later inning situation or less than two outs I would agree. Just felt Feldman in that spot of the game was the better choice. Just my opinion.
For a team with only one player hitting better than .280 and no starting pitcher with sub 3 ERA and yet have one of the best records in the league; Hinch has done a good job this season.
