Fiers is great at MMP, gets beat like a rented mule on the road He's good with RISP, great with them and 2 outs OPS while pitching with a lead: 1.034 OPS while pitching behind: .640 2nd time through the lineup he gets shelled. I'd swap him and Feldman next time through the rotation.
Well, that's what average hitters do... they do terrible against good pitching and tend to feast on bad pitching.
There's really no excuses... he's had pretty consistent run support all season. Also, two of his most disappointing starts of the year were both at MMP (The last game against Seattle, and the start against Minnesota where he couldn't get through 5 with 10 runs scored for him). His stuff is really hard to get behind (as a fan)... mainly because the fastball is his changeup (its only effective when the other pitches are working for him).
Yeah.... Let's allow Feliz to walk three straight batters and walk in two runs... Makes perfect sense.
Feldman is who I would have gone with. Devenski as well but he has pitched the last couple of games. Feliz has failed and should be coming in throwing strikes better than he has this inning.
