Trump didn't write the book that made him a celebrity. His ghost writer is SCARED of a Trump presidency. http://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2016/07/25/donald-trumps-ghostwriter-tells-all
So Schwarz arguably knows Trump better than anyone outside Trump's immediate family. Spent 18 months with him on a daily basis, at his home(s), at his office, in meetings, in down time. Here's what he says: “I genuinely believe that if Trump wins and gets the nuclear codes there is an excellent possibility it will lead to the end of civilization.” That literally scares me. I just want to think he'd be massively incompetent.

when did america cease to be great? i suspect that for trump supporters, it was when a black guy became president. and many of the things that our government did that made us less great are things that trump supports such as torture.
It's so incredibly lazy to just toss the race card. You act as if Bill Clinton wasn't the target of the right's criticisms, or W wasn't targeted by the left.
I remember all the t-shirts depicting Bill Clinton as a monkey: And George Bush as a witch doctor: http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/09/17/obama.witchdoctor.teaparty/ While these were the more blatant examples of racism that President Obama faced, there were other more subtle examples, including questions of where he was born, or where he was schooled, or the emphasis on his middle name, or even his wife being "angry"... So no... it wasn't just like the right wing's criticisms of Bill Clinton, or the left's criticism of George W. Bush...
It is interesting though. Trump's been asked but has not given a clear answer. When exactly did America cease being "great"? We are: (1) very big in terms of land mass. that hasn't decreased. (2) leading the world economically, by a large margin. that's not on the decline. (3) we have the world's most powerful military and spend more than the next many nations combined on our military. So that's not declining. Maybe he wants a better Olypmic medal count? Wants to put more money into science so that we can compete with the likes of Germany and China? Or wants to dream of a bygone time when construction and manufacturing jobs could actually be supported by the American economy for good wages. I just don't know exactly what he's pretending to be thinking. Am curious though.
I don't have an issue with trump's campaign slogan. He has to campaign on things being bad now otherwise why should people even consider him? What has to be addressed by his campaign is what he will do to solve the problems he says currently exists. So far he says he wants to build walls and deport Muslims. he will need to sell folks that (1) those address real problems, and (2) #1 is true his solutions can solve the problems, and (3) if #2 is true he can deliver those solutions.
You're so wrong, yet again. Bill Clinton got impeached. Obama hasn't gotten anything on that level. W received far more scorn than Obama. Remember the media sways far left. The difference is when somebody criticizes Obama, people automatically (and lazily) assume racism. Not the case at all. You're on a hideous losing streak today. Gather yourself.
Its like some posters live in an alternate reality or something. Only in their minds do they think they are "winning" a conversation...
They aren't here to learn anything they are here to propagate their POV and get off on mocking others. To them debate is about dominating others. Bigtexxx talks a lot about "dominating the thoughts and minds of others" for instance. I guess the internet affords people who are unhappy in their lives an outlet to take their frustrations out on others and somehow stroke their ego.
We will all be calling him up saying ..Mr president your ideas are soooooooo good, you have the best ideas but we're sick of winning all the time
I frustrate the heck out of bigtexx. I avoid personal attacks, and instead simply post facts. Hence all he can do is avoid the facts and instead bluster. Case in point... instead of denying that there have been racists attacks (clearly proven above) he instead changes the discussion to whether other Presidents have been attacked by the other side. Heck... some people on this very discussion board get wrapped up as to whether Obama is black or not...
Hilarious - you're a classic "liberal pile-on specialist" who has to rely on other left leaning posters to come in and help you. I can assure you that you don't frustrate me in any way.
There was a popular website comparing Bush to a monkey. Even t-shirts were made and sold well of Bush as a monkey. Bush was also often compared to Hitler and his wife was portrayed as a stupid obedient wife. Bill Clinton was often portrayed as a redneck or hillbilly white trash called "Willie". So no, it wasn't unique to Obama. Was there an element of racism from some people? Yes I absolutely believe it, especially in regards to the Birther BS. His middle name was fair game.. because that is/was his middle name.
