If he is not called up until September, then he is not eligible for post-season play, unless an injury forces a player off the 25 man roster and Bregman were selected as the injury replacement. That could be a motivation to call him up before September 1st.

What does it really matter if we "burn his rookie season?" Honest question. He loses eligibility at the ROY award?

He's a guy that would rather help the team, I'm sure. Based off his interviews.

Also, is there any legitimate chancw we trade for a bat? I can't comprehend why we would do that.

Gurriel will hopefully be enough of an addition (along with Bregman).

While the lineup has been more consistent during their hot streak... there are still plenty of holes and streak-prone/inconsistent hitters. Primarily against left-handed starting pitching (albeit they just took 2 out of 3 against lefty starters).

    [PREMIUM CORRECTION]
That hasn't been true for some time. Now, a player only has to be on the 40-man by Aug. 31st. Also, any injured player who is eligible for postseason play may be replaced by any player that was on an active or disabled list for either that team or any of its affiliated minor league teams at midnight August 31.

Still just waiting for Correa to figure it out against left handed pitching. If he gets back to his normal ways of mashing them then the problem is solved.

That 1st base position is just cursed. Chris Carter's 22 home runs (even with a .224 batting average and .811 OPS) is looking pretty decent compared to what the Stros have this year.

He's part of it... but you also have LF, DH, Valbuena hitting lefty-lefty (he's improved but still has career poor numbers), and Gattis in a straight platoon (which again has shown improvement... but there's still defensive concerns that allows for the occasional DH-Gattis, C-Castro lineup against lefties).

That cornfed b*stard can mash, give him time. In my silly brain he's only slightly less tradeable than Golden Boy.

Only matters to the guy who signs the checks.

With Bregman and Gurriel...Im hoping we can have a daily lineup that consists of 6 guys that have an OPS of 0.800 or better.

Any chance this team could move Springer to center and Rasmus to RF?

Im tired of Gomez in the field and at the plate. He's just exhausting to follow...and he brings zero consistency. Rasmus isnt much better, but I think he's better at the plate and in the field, compared to CarGo.

Biggest thing to me is the versatility to start punishing LHP, that's our offensive weakness for now.

I would be somewhat surprised if he's not in Minute Maid this weekend

Monster night for Bregman. Dude is a future Superstar! He will bring Houston a championship when it's all said and done.

The guys on 610 asked him who he envisioned facing for his first hit/first ab in the big leagues.

He said he wasn't sure about what pitcher; just that he pictured the pitcher wearing "red and gray."

Friday, July 22nd we play the Angels ;) (my birthday haha)

He said he caught some fly balls in LF yesterday for the first time. Awesome.
