He really deserves it, though. Anderson Varejao really helped the Cavs win Game 7 during his short stints on the court.

He would have accepted it if he hadn't re-upped with the Warriors for the upcoming season.

Why not accept it and give it to Lebron. Then he'd have 4.

He should accept it and then donate it to some good cause.

    He did the right thing.

He knows he doesn't deserve it.

    Props to LeBron's favorite teammate.

Maybe it's just me but I think championship rings are overrated unless you're a superstar player like LBJ, and even then after the first one you get the 2nd one loses significant value unless again you're chasing history like LBJ.

Getting a ring is nice but since one team wins the championship every year it's not really that special esp. if you're just a role player people aren't gonna hold you in awe for winning a ring or blame you if you don't have one. I mean Darko Milicic is a champ but people don't really give him any respect for that lol.

In that sense it might be better to just decline the ring and generate goodwill from your current teammates as well as stop hecklers telling you to give the ring back during games.

Oddly enough, his plus/minus for that game was negative 4, which is exactly what the Warriors lost by. Cleveland knew what they were doing when they gave them Varejao. Poison pill.

Edit: I have that wrong, it was -9.

He should give it to David West. That guy be ring chasing with no success. May be he will retire then.

Yeah, that's kind of sad... especially considering the money he gave up to be eliminated in the second round from the bench. Even MerGady got one. Life has a way to laugh at us.

Other than Rockets' success, there hasn't been much that the NBA has ever televised that has pleased more then watching Varejao flop and dive all over the court and not get rewarded by the refs for his buffoonery. Towards the end of the Finals series, that was music to my eyes.

McGrady did not get a ring. He tried to ring chase like David West, but the Spurs aren't the juggernauts they once were. Haven't been for about 3-4 years.

The Spurs' last championship was in 2014. Just two seasons ago.
