Guess the market wasn't as high on Dmo as some of clutchfans are.

Just logic. I know exactly what's going on. They made him a pitch and asked him to wait. They convinced him that he would get the money he wants + it would allow them to build a better team than any of the ones interested in him.

Why would he wait when he can go out and get the best offer right then? At that point the only way he agrees to wait is if they match an offer he COULD get. DMo and his agent are not going to just trust Morey's evaluation.

What we get out of it is, we can sign him when we're above the cap rather than using cap space. His cap hold was relatively small.

None of this says D-Mo is that valuable. Morey is just being smart in making sure we don't lose an asset for nothing at a time when we're short on assets. I know that people who are hell bent on hating on the guy for not being AMAZING AND GAME CHANGING like to say "well for all we know he can't even get a minimum offer" but that's ridiculous. He is probably a top 3 player left on the market right now.

He's going to sign a contract at least 3-4 times the minimum, I guarantee it. Tip jar bet $100 still open.

His QO was $4.43 million. How much per year and how many years are you talking about?

Rockets have had a glaring weakness at PF the entire time DMo has been on the team.

Well sure, either at starter when they didn't start DMo, off the bench when he was starting, or at both when he was hurt.

Except for half of 2015 and the playoffs, when McHale got Josh Smith to play inspired ball, which reminded us what chemistry looks like.

Speaking of Smith, I would love to see what D'Antoni could get out of him in his offense. In fact, rather see Brewer get dumped for a low 2ND and give Jsmoove a couple mil on a 2 year deal and see if D'Antoni can revive his creativity and passion for the game. When he's on the dude can still beast.

Josh Smith is not coming back, thank heavens. D-Mo will so we just have to see for how much.

Say what you want about Smoove but he's still the second or third best passer on the team, no joke.

Yes. You're so certain, why not put your money where your mouth is?

Don't come back in here later saying I told you so if you're not willing to commit.

3-4 times the minimum, not the QO. I think he'll get at least 2 years, 5 million per.
