Yeah, tough let go. He has a really nice set shot and could turn into a reliable scorer in the nba level.
All I heard them say is that he was born in 1982 so he's about 34-- must have won some kind of contest to get to play the last quarter of the last game...
KJ's still best odds to make the rotation, not an initiator or great scorer but doesn't have to be. Just has to be better than Brewer, thats not out of the question.
KJ , trez, and Dekker all played well today . The chemistry has gotten better each game . Dekker looks great shooting spot up and KJ just might be serviceable . Trez has got great energy and I think is athletic enough to find a niche , maybe not this year .
Trezz may not clean the glass in terms of rebounding but what he DOES do it box out... and for you stats junkies with a calculator in your crotch, I hope you know it doesnt show up in the box score. all you fools saying hes a poor rebounder need to realize that boxing out helps your teammates get rebounds. there was 0 boxing out last year
Yeah, but let's wait until the season starts to see how it goes before comparing last year's NBA vs. this year's summer league. It's one thing to box out scrubs, but another to box out NBA-level players. KJ and Montrezl were studs in the D-League, too.
Just finished watching the game Great game, my takes from tonight and the overall players from SL are Dekker with 5 made 3's was sweet. If he can become a conistent three point shooter he will be a nice player. He can handle, he can pass, good driver/finisher at the basket, he's not particularlly strong or quick but he has enough of both along with some decent hops to hold his own. Reminds me a lot of Parsons (and NO not because they where both white Rockets). Great game by Harrell but he defenitely needs to keep working on that shot if he's going to get minutes in MDA's system. (On a side note, he seems like he would ge a really annoying guy to play against, looks like he talks a lot of **** lol). Onuaku played his best game tonight, and I noticed that he looked gassed most of the time so perhaps thats the biggest reason he didn't make a big impact in SL this year. Once he gets his conditioning right he could look much better. Hope his injury was nothing serious. Wiljiter would be a great poor mans Ryan Anderson type fit in MDA's system. He really needs to work on his body though, needs to get a lot stronger and needs to work on making his feet quicker. ITaylor showed a little something this game, should be worth a RGV roster spot. Same with Kenny Gaines. KJ just needs to keep working on his shot, he doesn't play when he's handling the ball, but the good news is that wouldn't be his role in the nba. He would be a great athletic 3&D + rebounding and hustle wing, he just needs to keep working on the shot.
Yes, 10 minutes per game of elite-level boxing out. It's a wonder he isn't an all-star. But hey, he did dominate the D-League.
<iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/bnxAGYtReso" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> OK, which one of you is wearing the Rockets Scottie Pippen jersey?
I don't understand how you can be a fan of one team yet wear another teams jersey? That dude with the Scottie jersey was an idiot.
Harrell was impressive just from an intensity/effort level he pretty much outworked everybody on the floor and played really tough D, if he couldn't block the shot he made sure to knock everybody around and be physical. If he we had a defensive coach I'd say he's a lock in the rotation, but since we have MDA I dunno if that's enough since his shot is pretty spotty. If he wants to get on the floor he should practice taking open 3s, if he can hit above 30% consistently maybe he'll get PT at the PF spot behind DMo and Beasley. Same goes for KJ, he also needs to work on his shot for PT. Honestly I think this batch of SL prospects are just our reserve corps for next year, we all know guys like Brew, 3Za and Bev are in danger for being traded due to their extremely cheap contracts these guys are probably being groomed to be the next in line, KJ might be our new 3Za, Dekker is the new Brew etc.If these guys get ready by midseason maybe we can see the Rox get really aggressive in trying to upgrade the roster.
I like Dekker. I think he will eventually replace Brewer and I wouldn't rule out him being an eventual starter. Still a lot of developing to do, but he looks like the jack-of-all-trades type player like Parsons was.
