As constructed, UH can't make the CFB playoff. It has to go to 8 or UH needs to move to a p5 conference. A one loss p5 team will get in before an undefeated team from a non p5 conference. Herman will have to remain patient
Not only that but with Baylor dead, UT in shambles, and A&M stranded in the basement of the SEC, UH might be the best college football team in Texas for the next few years at least. That'll do wonders for recruiting which is already looking good.
The school already had the flexibility to increase his salary another 1-2 million dollars. TF fully expected to pay more. There were no real negotiations. Herman said what he wanted. TF offered more, and Herman asked the money go to his staff and additional money be donated to the school. It was very odd.
If they beat OU out of schedule this season and go undefeated; they will have a legitimate chance. Having said that, it is very hard to go undefeated, even in the conference that UH is in. It just doesn't happen often. The margin for error is always small. Last year they arguable had a real chance to go undefeated.
He didn't have the team prepared for U Conn. Was unfortunate. This isn't Sumlin's UH. Coogs finally have a war chest, stadium, amenities and projects down the road on top of some prestige beating FSU and landing some highly rated recruits. If they beat OU and run the table they will be in top 4.
If they beat OU and OU goes on to win the big 12 as expected. Yeah they'll have a chance if they go undefeated. Beating OU is going to be extremely tough imo
Not true. Houston has the 2 year resume. Because of what they did last season including the win over FSU, they gives them a head start. Beating OU is big though. They are also play Louisville, so that also helps.
If the AAC has another season like last and UH goes undefeated, they have a legitimate shot. The conference got a lot of national exposure last season and UH should be coming in somewhere around 15 while Oklahoma is going to be top 10. Knock them off and you're right in the middle of it.
Of course beating Oklahoma is going to be extremely tough, they are by far the best team in the Big XII. A lot of people believe that OU will win the national championship. However that is kind of the point, it isn't a walk for anyone to get into the final four. If they don't beat OU, they don't deserve to be in the final 4. Also Herman not too happy about the claim he met with Baylor or was interested in the job.... he went as far as to call it "ridiculous". Herman really dislikes the media, except when he can control it..... yet another reason he isn't as certain as most people to jump into the powder keg of most big schools.
Oh no, no, no, UH. On what planet are you allowed to talk sports **** to anyone? Act like you're been there before. (please come join the BXII, btw, that would be fun)
Meh a lot of Baylor fans would take Kendall Briles over Herman. He's younger and a proven recruiter and will be calling the plays again this season. That's who I hope is our next HC. Herman's agent was in Waco. He shouldn't have showed up if he didn't want the rumors to fly around. That's not Baylor's fault. Could it be for leverage? Of course! He's going to need a salary of 6 MM by next season from UH.
Forget the rumors. Whether it's Baylor or not.. True or false? UH will need to up his pay to about 5-6 M going into next season?
That sounds crazy. But, I don't know many Baylor fans, so I guess you would know better than me. But, that sounds nuts.
KB has been hands down our best recruiter. He knows the Briles offense like the back of his hand. Called the plays last season. Came up with bearcat offense once we lost all of our quarterbacks (700 rushing yards against UNC). 33 years old and gets the younger generation. He's kinda like Herman if you think about it. It's interesting that we kinda have a rivalry and we don't play each other. That's why I want UH in the big 12. That's not gonna happen so I would love to see a OOC deal to happen. Edit: Kendal was the big 12 recruiter of year in 2013 and 2014. He's also a UH alum. Lol
CTH is staying for a while. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Patiently waiting for <a href="https://twitter.com/LopezOnSports">@LopezOnSports</a> & his "source" to tell me when to pack my bags. <a href="https://t.co/OCxcCdfpZr">pic.twitter.com/OCxcCdfpZr</a></p>— Michelle Herman (@belletjh) <a href="https://twitter.com/belletjh/status/753679960569622532">July 14, 2016</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Well the Big 12 votes next week so we'll see but all indicators point that they will unanimously vote against it. Not saying they'll never get in but a poster saying that Herman not only knows they're getting in, but which one, is laughable. IMO, there is a better chance that UT, A&M, Bama, LSU, tOSU come calling before the next round of realignment, and even in that there is no guarantee that UH gets in.
