The best part is that Pence actually endorsed Cruz during the primary. Christie took all that abuse during the primary only to be upstaged by a governor who didn't even endorse Trump.

I wonder if Christie might have fared better had he been more combative. Trump doesn't seem like the sort of guy who respects deference. He takes deference for granted, exploits and abuses it. He figures he already took whatever Christie had to offer, or that he'll get it regardless since Christie has no backbone.

Every time I get depressed about the state of the world, someone like you comes along and posts something so entirely stupid that it makes me laugh. Thanks!

There was a good chance Pence would lose re-election in Indiana.......lol. He is very unpopular there.

Christie and Donald Trump are close personal friends.

The reason he isn't picking Christie has nothing to do with Christie's personality or Trump's bullying psychosis. He isn't picking Christie because he brings nothing to the table but potential negatives.

Trump doesn't want to have answer questions about bridgegate, or Christie being "too liberal" or having the image of his VP being a fat guy, etc. There are no positives to Christie.

Perhaps they will vote for him as VP in order to get him out of the state?

Rumor is that Christie is angling for Attorney General in the Trumpeted States of American government.

This is probably all true, except the implication that Trump wouldn't walk all over Christie since they're 'friends.'

Who implied he wouldn't walk all over Christie. I'm saying that isn't why he didn't pick him, not that it wouldn't happen. I'm reasonably certain that Trump isn't going to have a VP that he sees as his equal no matter who he picks and I already said he has a bully psychosis.

Trump wants a yes man that he can bully but that person also needs to have credentials. Honestly, Pence fits that role perfectly. Plus this gets Pence out of running for what a governor's race that could end his career.

I can't think of a WORSE position for Christie except POTUS.

I hope he crawls back under the rock he came from.

Agreed completely. Pence actually brings something to his ticket and Christie just didn't.

    -Pence has legislative experience
-He has a good voice and handles himself well speaking
    -He comes across as "nice"
    -He's a good family man
-He has a good "look" for tv debates
    -He's liked within the party
    -He's religious
    -He's from the Midwest

So instead, his career will end when Trump inevitably loses in November.

Yeah, that's one of the better political ads that I've seen. The kids really frame Trump's horrific bs in a powerful way.

Yeah, I wouldn't want to hitch my wagon to Trump. It might help his career a good deal (maybe) if Trump wins -- but that looks unlikely. Losing with Trump will probably hurt a lot more than losing with an ordinary presidential candidate.
